    3. XRF Testing

    1) Suppliers must carry out a XRF Test by the unit of homogeneous materials in parts.

    * Homogeneous material means a unit that cannot be mechanically disjointed into single materials.

    - Standards: Distinguish between organic/inorganic ( Unit: ppm, error tolerance 15% )

    4. Spot Test of surface treated parts

    1) Spot-test of Hexavalent chromium- Target: Chromium plating parts, chromate treated parts, parts detected with over

    700ppm during XRF test

    - Preparation of reagent and test apparatus

    Mix 0.4g Diphenylcarbazide, 20ml Acetone, and 20ml Ethanol.

    Mix 17ml of 85% Phosphoric acid with 23ml of water.

    * You must use the manufactured reagent within 4~8hr because of discoloration.

    If Hexavalent chromium is detected, then color will turn red within one

    minute. If there is no change, judge as pass.

    For effective judgment, place the white paper under the reagent bottle.

    Its impossible to judge after several minutes has passed from making the reagent

    In case of large size sample, pour the reagent over the sample and collect the

    reagent in a beaker. Then judge the color of the reagent.Rub a wide area more than 10 times using the cotton swab with the reagent.

    Pass if there is no change in color, fail if the solution turns red.

    2) Spot-test of Nickel (DMGO)

    Mix and at a 1:1 ratio in a beaker using a pipette.

    Rub the surface more than 10 times using the cotton swab with solution
