Ø Ensure the Main steam Parameters. Steam temperature (PI101) > 450 Deg C Steam Pressure (TI101) > 60Kg/Cm2.

Ø Start Cooling Tower Fans. Ø Ensure the Lube Oil Temperature TI-502 39 – 40Deg C. Ø Check the TCC and DCS turbine Trip interlock screen for any external trip

except Emergency trip from Governor. Ø Check the Emergency push button status Turbine Control Panel and Turbine

supervisory panel Ø Press Reset Button From DCS. Ø Ensure the Trip Device outlet Pressure is > 9.0 Kg/cm2 Ø Check weather ESV is Fully Open. Ø After ESV Opened fully give RUN Command from Trip page or Run (SA1)&

Start permissive (SA3) at same time in Turbine Supervisory Panel. Ø Ensure Weather F3 light is glown in Governor For Auto Sequence Mode. Ø Ensure the Turbine Startup is Accordance to the Start up Curves. Ø During Speed up the Following parameters to be carefully monitored.

• Barring Gear Dis engage At >315Rpm. • Lube Oil Temperature (Must be between 39 – 40 Deg C). • Vibrations • Bearing Temperatures. • Bearing inlet oil pressure. • Main steam parameters. • Exhaust steam Parameters. • Lube oil System Operation • Abnormal noise.

If any abnormality found in any of above, machine speed / runup should be holded or tripped. Ø After reaching 6120 RPM, AOP shall be switched off in Auto mode after

satisfying all parameters . Ø After Reaching 6800 Rpm main steam drains to be closed & Trabs to be taken

into line Ø If the TG set is running smoothly, excite the Generator and Synchronize with the

grid and thereafter load the machine. Ø Load the Turbine firstly to 1.6 MW and check all the parameters. Ø Gradually increase the load according to the loading Curve. Ø During normal run, you must log all the operating parameters every hour and

significant values in the LogBook. Procedure for Excitation, Synchronization and Loading: Ø Ensure the turbine is running at Rated Speed. Ø Ensure the availability of AC and DC Power source to AVR; Relay metering and

Synchronizing Panel. Ø Reset the REM-545, Generator master trip Relay and Annunciation

3

Voltage Build-up: Ø Reset the AVR. Ø Ensure the Following Indications in AVR display :

a. Ready b. Excitation OFF. c. Local.

Ø Switch ON the Excitation on Push Button in Avr Panel. Ø Raise the Voltage to 11 kV & observe 11kv at every meter/display Or put it in

Auto Control on and start excitation and check weather voltage is constant at 11KV

Synchronization: Ø Select the Governor in Local/Remote in Remote position in DCS. Ø Select the AVR in Local/Remote in Remote position from AVR Panel. Ø Select Synchronizing in Manual mode. Ø Select the Breaker to be synchronized. Ø Switch on the Synchro scope . Ø Reset Flag relays. Ø Match the Voltage and Frequency of Generator by Raise / Lower commands to

AVR and Governor respectively. Ø Watch the Synchroscope rotating steadily and Slowly towards Clockwise

Direction. Ø Actuate the Breaker Close Command while Synchroscope reaches slowly top 12

0’ Clock position and Both bright lamp Glows. Ø Load the Machine up to 1.6 Mw. Ø Switch off the Synchronizing switch and Breaker Selection Switch. Ø Gradually increase the load accordance to the loading Curve. Ø Switch on the power Factor Control in AVR after reaching the load of 2 Mw or

keep it in Remote it will automatically on when load is grater than 2Mw. Note: Power factor will be on when machine is synchronized with grid.

Ø During normal run, you must log all the Generator parameters every hour and significant values in the logbook.

Procedure for taking Bleed steam to Deareator: Ø Ensure the Load is More than 10 Mw. Ø Open the Drain valve before ON/OFF valve. Ø Ensure Drain to Flash tank valve (orifice bypass valve) is fully open. Ø Ensure Manual valve after ON/OFF valve is fully opened. Ø Open the ON/OFF Valve from DCS. Ø Below 10.0 Mw load bleed ON/OFF SV102A valve should be closed. Ø Ensure that ON/OFF Valve SV102A is Closed when Turbine is tripped.

4

Procedure for taking Bleed steam to LP Heater: Ø Ensure the Load is More than 7.5 Mw. Ø Open the Drain valve before Motorised Valve. Ø Ensure Drain to Flash tank valve (orifice bypass valve) is fully open. Ø Ensure All the condensate after NRV is drained through Atmospheric Valve. Ø Open the Motorised Valve MIV901 gradually by inching from DCS. Ø Ensure weather Normal Drain & Emergency Control valves isolation valves are

in open condition. Ø Ensure Normal Drain & Emergency Control valves are in Auto Mode Ø Maintain LP Heater Level 50% while in Operation. Ø Ensure that Weather Motorised valve is closed when level is high high

LSHH901 is acted. Ø Ensure weather Motorised Valve is Closed when Turbine is tripped.

Procedure for Turbine Shutdown / During Turbine Trip: Ø Whenever turbine trips, ensure the trip Device outlet Pressure is Zero. Ø Ensure AOP Start Up during Coasting down Period. Ø Ensure Barring Gear is in auto mode and should start when Rpm is less than

300. Ø Open Start Up Vent immediately. Ø Open main steam Drain before ESV Ø Ensure the drain before bleed ON/OFF Valve is fully close Ø Ensure the drain before bleed to LP Heater Motorised valve MIV 901 is fully

close Ø Maintain the Gland seal Pressure in order to keep the Vacuum. Ø Please establish the reason for tripping before restarting. For Long Shutdown period following Procedure to be followed : Ø Machine should be on Barring Gear till the Casing Temperature comes to less

tha 70 Deg Ø CEP shall be kept running till the Turbine Exhaust temperature Reaches to less

tha 40 Deg. Ø Cooling Water Pump and Fans shall be kept running till the DT of condenser

inlet / Outlet water comes to Less than 30 Deg C. NOTE: Turbine should not be halted or run in critical speed that is 2936 to 4404 RPM THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS ARE TO BE STRCITLY FOLLOWED FOR LONGER AND SMOOTH OPERATION OF THE TG SET.
