Instructor ProfileRenee Iaci

Since graduating from UBC 20 years with a BFA in acting, Renee has been a storyteller and theatre instructor at Arts Umbrella and has lead workshops in theatre throughout the lower mainland. She created and shaped the program of Dress Up Drama and contributed to the development of the theatre curriculum at Arts Umbrella. Over the course of 8-10 weeks she sees the growth in her students in both listening and speaking skills, and often marvels at some of the kids’ development and level of comfort. Theatre and storytelling are some of the best ways to break down language barriers, instill confidence and promote team work.

Instructor ProfileMichael Okech

Michael’s passion for sport and fitness inspired him to become a personal trainer after he completed University. He concentrates on weight management, body sculpting, cardiovascular conditioning, and endurance training. His strength lies in his ability to motivate and find fulfilment in exercise programs that are fun, challenging, and lead to great results. Realizing that this doesn’t come easily to everyone, he tailors his instruction to each participant’s needs.
