The High Dam at Aswan was completed in 1970. It was built for several reasons. What are they?

The river Nile use to flood large areas every year and destroyed houses and crops. The Aswan High Dam controls the waters of the Nile so that they now run regularly all through the year.Electricity can now be made from the water which rushes through the base of the dam. One possible version: Dear editor,

I went to visit the Great Wall with my parents during the summer vacation. But some of visitors wrote something and their names on the bricks of the Great Wall with a knife. I don’t know why the people did that. It is bad manners for them to do so. The Great Wall is a famous place of interest in China and it has a long history. It should be protected by everyone. I’d like to discuss the problem in your newspaper and is that right?
