旅行是工作，在去之前就将沙与这个国家联系在一起，大漠阻隔来自非洲大陆的疾病，温婉的法

语世界阻隔着对曾经彪悍年代的想像。同行的伙伴用可乐瓶带回了撒哈啦的沙子以示纪念，而

我在马特马他的高山上拣了块巴掌大的石头，打算日后有机会用阿拉伯文写上马特马他的地名。如果

石头是过去，沙子是现在，每一粒沙子都可以给我们讲述一个石头的故事。

Travel is work, I had associated this country with sands before I went there, the deserts

protected the diseases from Africa, the soft French world inhibited you from the

imagination about the wild days. My pal brought the Saharan sands in Cola bottle for

souvenir, and I picked up a palm-sized stone on Matmata Mountains, intending to write

down its name in Arabic on it. If stones are the past, sands are the present, every sand

might tell us a story about stones.
