A Publication of Hobe Sound Christian Academy F rom the Principale Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom was one of my favorite books when I was a boy. Corrie and her sister Betsy were imprisoned in a concentration camp during World War II for hiding Jews. Eventually they were caught. ey went to several prisons before going to Ravensbrück concentration camp, a women’s labor camp in Germany. Betsy died there. Corrie eventually got out. Reflecting on her imprisonment she later said, “If you look to the world you’ll be distressed, if you look within, you’ll be depressed, if you look to Christ you’ll be at rest.” It all depends on what you have your eyes on. If we only focus on the problems in the world, we will definitely be discouraged. We will at times feel like giving up. But if we keep our eyes focused on God, the outcome is different. One of my favorite verses in the Bible is Jonah 2:7. “When I had lost all hope, I once again turned my thoughts to the Lord.” Discouraged by what is going on in the world? Keep your eyes focused on Jesus! T hanksgiving will soon be here! It is during this time of year, we realized how BLESSED we are. Here at HSCA we are also counting our blessings.
