Tokyo Star Caf an Asian Contemporary concept
Tokyo Star was born in March 2000. Tokyos rst
home was a booth like corridor in Melville, sporting
clean fun kitchen coolness. From its inception, the
element of craziness, the idea of being out of the
box was and is the life and soul resounding from
the pounding heart beat of the STAR. We moved
to Greenside after our neighborhood in Melvillebecame
throttling. Here we have expanded our
prole and provided a more sophisticated platform
as a destination venue including a proper restaurant
facility.
The whole idea of the Asian element was not
necessarily the authenticity of Tokyo as in Japan, but
rather the spirit of creativity, myths, matters of the
heart, escapes, disciplines, passions, legends the
extent of mystical relevance present in Asian cultures
captured our hearts. We, Tokyo Star, are entertainers
with a passionate edge in the creative arts. It is here
that our interest in a foreign culture gave rise to the
angle of entertainment we offer TOKYO STAR!
In accepting that we are not Asian, but have lent
from a fascinating culture in dening our prole as
a Caf & Bar. We have come full circle in denition
for ourselves, i.e. Our starting point and deninginuences are
Asian (Tokyo), we cannot be held
by restrictive authenticity. Asian contemporary
was always our agenda. In saying this we trust you
understand the changes in our venue as being a way
of providing a more accessible form of entertainment
to a cosmopolitan audience.
The great minds over the centuries keep reminding us
that to be truly inuenced is to understand, respect,take and
leave aspects of ones inuence according
to an outside agenda. It is with the deepest respect,
that we, at Tokyo Star, thank our Asian brothers for the
fascinating culture they have shared with us over the
years. May we continue to become more comfortable
in our understanding of a deeply mystical and
magnicent presence.
The most important mission statement we wishto share with you is
that our overall objective is to
provide a sophisticated, left of centre space for like
minded people to meet, eat, drink and party!

seventies
meaning strained pineapple is an infusion of fresh
pineapple,coconut cream and a light island rum.

The Tahitian word for good is all that needs to be saidabout
this island style cocktail with an island light rum and
a sweet and sour tang.
