Please abide by the trail rules and contact authorities when improper use of the trail is observed. • Keep pets on a leash. • Clean up after your pet. • Unauthorized motorized vehicles prohibited. • Obey all traffic signs. • Bicycles must yield to pedestrians. • Everyone must yield to horses. • Stay to the right of the trail except when passing. • Give a clear warning before passing other trail users. • Horses are to use the woodchip/grass side of the trail. • No horses permitted north of mile marker 12.5. • Discharging firearms from or across the trail is strictly prohibited. • Smoking, alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs are not permitted on the trail right of way. • Avoid disturbing natural features. • Please respect the landowners along the trail. • The trail is closed to all users from dusk to dawn. • Camping on the trail right-of-way or at trailheads is prohibited. No open campfires! • No littering L T Lebanon Valley Rails to Trails, Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization of volunteers working to enhance the Lebanon community by converting and maintaining abandoned railroad corridors into public recreation trails. As a part of a nationwide trails and greenways movement, we are preserving a part of Lebanon’s railroad history while providing a much needed resource for the future. The Lebanon Valley Rail-Trail currently extends from the City of Lebanon south 15 miles to the Lancaster County line, passing through the communities of South Lebanon, Cornwall, Mt. Gretna, Colebrook and Lawn. Trailheads with parking and other amenities are conveniently spaced along the way. We hope to someday extend the trail through the city to the Union Canal Tunnel Park and northward to Swatara State Park. In addition, we are actively promoting the development of numerous potential spur trails that would branch out into surrounding neighborhoods, commercial centers and other attractions. Volunteers L LVRT depends on volunteers for all of the following activities: trail maintenance, public relations, event planning, future trail development planning and advocacy, and fundraising. Anyone interested in any of these opportunities can attend a monthly LVRT meeting to obtain more information about current specific needs. Your individual contributions are used to purchase maintenance supplies and tools to keep the trail in great shape.
