Introduction:

Formed in 2005 the 6,000 Sq Meter Factory in Baolong Industrial Estate Longgang is ideally located

within easy access to the vibrant modern city of Shenzhen (Reference 1) and with direct freeway access

to the major Yantian Shipping Port (Reference 2) and nearby Hong Kong City and Airport for rapid and

convenient imports and exports. Surrounded by such famous brands as Brother, BYD Auto makers and

many others in a new and open industrial environment, the TGL Factory enjoys a clean and uncongested

location.

TGL (Trend Grace Limited) is a Hong Kong registered Trading Company and with TGL Shenzhen Limited

established as a China trading and Marketing Company, with Import and Export License. A third

company, TGL Manufacturing Limited manages the factory. This group forms a functional and practical

approach to a number of business relationships for foreign and domestic operations.

TGL staff has many years experience in design, implementation and manufacture for a range of

electronic and wireless applications, including security, home automation and control, lighting and

power conservation and energy management products.

TGL is placed to provide a one stop solution from design to manufacture and delivery or provide a

reliable and trusted manufacture solution for existing products or sub assembly that you may wish to

manufacture in China.

TGL has capability to do medium volume PCB and SMT assembly with modern equipment in a clean and

Air Conditioned environment. TGL has flexible assembly and in line software programming racks and hot

run or burn in capability. TGL can do short run assembly of boutique products or short run samples as

required in addition to medium volume mass production as you require.

With experience in Industrial Design, plastic and metal Tool CAD design, and Electronics PCB design and

product sourcing, TGL offers a wide and practical solution delivery.

The TGL Factory has full Security with Fingerprint access and CCTV coverage in 24 / 7 in site support by

trained and qualified security staff.

TGL has ROHS compliant manufacture and ISO9001:2008 Quality Management. TGL has experience to

process product approvals for FCC / CE and most other international compliance testing on your behalf.

TGL understands the need to protect IP and customer software and provides a secure and functional

Remote Program Server support in the factory, to ensure reliable and trusted programming of all

customer products. TGL knows this is a critical factory in choosing any factory supplier.

Many of the TGL staff have been with the company for several years and TGL knows that this gives

confidence to customers that also want long term relationships.


History:

Originally established as a Sub Contract operation in 1998 in Shenzhen City, set up to develop and

manufacture a range of electronic microprocessor and wireless products. This operation evolved and the

new factory was part fitted out in 2005 to expand and service both local sub contract and to supply what

was more boutique export volumes manufacture.

Currently TGL is engaged in manufacturing a range of export customer focused products for Security

[Fingerprint Access control], Information Services [Media book eInk / eBook readers, Web applications

and Browsers], and a number of (Linux / Win CE) products suitable for Google Android operating system.

Set Top Box (STB) Digital TV, with applications for IPTV content delivery: Home Automation, Energy

Management and Monitoring.

Manufacture: [Domestic Sub contract]

A significant part of TGL output is to supply part and assembly products to domestic Chinese companies

under Sub Contract for Mobile Phones, PDA, Music and TV players, and a number of other domestic

application products.

Currently, this Sub contract work is being increased to include new products and higher volume

assembly; this will commence delivery of product during May June 2010. This will considerably expand

the output from the factory.

Engineering Development Group:

The engineering development group that is based at the factory works directly with the factory

production engineering and production managers, this ensures a complete follow through of

engineering; from design and specification to production samples and volume output.

The engineering group has the capability to specify, design layout and produce microprocessor boards,

wireless and Zibgee products, Digital TV / IP TV hardware and all related software build and operating

systems including low level drivers and applications.

The engineering group work with customers to ensure the flow of information, customer support to

develop applications and drivers is maintained and documented.

The group also works with Industrial design companies and has CAD / proE modeling and rapid

prototyping experience, up to and including all require production tooling and implementation.

Security:

The factory is a closed site, with all access controlled by Uniformed Security Staff 24/ 7: this includes all

living, eating factory area and grounds. There are internal and external CCTV cameras in all areas, and

FingerPrint access to Admin, Programming, testing and Factory. This also doubles as Time and

Attendance recording, so there is no unauthorized access and no shift swapping.

The camera system also records all vehicle access including number plates and image of the driver and

passengers.

The CCTV and Security staff monitors all yard and perimeter areas. Guards are required to check staff

entering and leaving the secure area and to identify and monitor non staff accessing the living and

eating areas. All staff must wear approved Photo ID tags at all times. All visitors must register with

security and be accompanied by an approved staff person.

Because most staff live on site, the factory has a payment system where non staff (friends of staff and

family) from nearby factories can buy vouchers for meals served on site, this is managed by security.

These visitors are only allowed access to the living and eating areas. Staff are not allowed to eat or have

food in the production and office areas.

During any factory close done (holiday period) the procedure is that Security clear and check all areas of

the buildings and all doors and windows are closed and a seal is applied to each access point. During

close down periods staff can still access living and eating areas and security is maintained 24/ 7. Seals

cannot be removed by staff. These procedures are clearly defined in the employment manual.

IP protection and programming.

The Factory has two separate Internet (ADSL) connections; one to the Admin and operations and a

dedicated line to a Production Program server. This Linux server is remotely programmed from the client

office and connects via a dedicated Gigabit LAN to the factory program assembly racks, (see picture

Factory Gallery) The Program Server is located in a secure program room with CCTV 24/7 recording and

Fingerprint Access, this is a defined restricted area. Only specific staff have registered Fingerprint access

to this facility. This network is not connected to the general factory or Admin Servers and network.

Normally this server(s) contains an automatic program script that programs each board and records of

performance and QA results; this is accessed by the client from their location over the internet.


Staff Employment Procedures:

TGL employs approximately 85 Staff at the factory; this includes Management, Admin, and factory

workers. This is being increased in May as part of an expansion to domestic contract work.

All new staff are given a comprehensive staff procedure manual, (available to translate if needed). This

manual covers employment and conditions on site. As the factory provides all living accommodation,

including family living apartments, some non staff need to access the living areas inside security,

procedures cover not having access to factory areas or how this is limited.

The factory has 24 / 7 kitchen and food preparation and serves at least four meals set per day and other

on request.

The staff manual covers all aspects of what is expected for staff and management and how staff are

expected to behave. In China the factory accepts a wide responsibility to help staff mange many day to

day activities, to ensure staff do not undertake credit debit that they may not be able to service. It

should be noted that many staff are young and inexperienced in how to manage their finances and

other activity as they are away from family support. The factory HR department manages this and is

required take responsibility to assist staff.

The staff manual covers:

• Staff Salary payment procedure.

• Pay rates, banking deposits.

• Holiday leave procedure.

• Annual holiday and mid term festival and holidays.

• Special leave for family needs, sick and bereavement events.

• Resignation Procedure.

• Termination process and reasons.

• Award and penalty procedure.

• Bonus payments and penalty.

• Access entry security on site.

• 24 hour security access, bringing friend or family on site to eat and visit.

• Working hours rates and of pay.

• Shift rate overtime and extra work payments, increased duty and responsibility

• Catering. Food and diet on site.

• Hours of meal times including weekend and holiday, food and preparation. Regulation about not

cooking in living rooms etc.

• Living accommodation.

• Access and limitation to living rooms, staff and visitors.


Production Equipment:

The factory has modern high speed Assembly Equipment including listed below; all assembly complies

with ROHS and PB (Lead free) certification. See reference ROHS, WEEE compliance.

Production QA failure rates:

Production monitoring of PCB assembly shows a failure rate of 0.03% consistently.
