Trumpet TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH VOLUME 36 ISSUE 5 MAY 2012 The Month of May A s we enter the month of May I am reminded of the fifth commandment which says, “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you” (Ex 20:12). Think about how significant it is that of only ten commands, one of them specifically addresses how we treat our parents. As Mother’s Day approaches, I hope you will consider how you can honor the moms in your life. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to do for moms because they constantly do so much for us. My mother is a servant, and all my life I have watched her give and sacrifice so that I could have a wonderful life. Looking back I realize how much she could have had for herself but instead she provided for me. Ultimately, I hope in turn that my life and how I live it out brings her honor. We should all be in a constant state of honoring our parents in our hearts and in how we speak about them. The other mom in my life is my wife Kelly. Like many of you, I am blessed with a help-mate who is constantly pouring into our little girl Emma Grace. Every night Kelly irons Emma Grace’s clothes, makes her lunch and gets all her school things ready. In the afternoon Kelly picks Emma Grace up and spends the afternoons with her. Kelly models for Emma Grace what it is to be a godly woman, and for that I am very grateful. The mothers in my life are a true blessing. There is no way I could ever do enough, but I hope that they will see in me a heart that truly loves them and they would receive the honor that is due them this Mother’s Day. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. - Proverbs 31:28-31 For Christ and His Kingdom, Pastor Eddie TBC Car Magnets TBC Car Magnets will be available in the foyer after worship services on Sundays. Trinity Nurses & Healthcare Professionals Ministry Team

A new and exciting ministry is developing at Trinity!

Within our church body, there are many dedicated health care professionals who are ready to be a part of an on-call response to any medical emergencies which may arise during Sunday services, Bible Study, and other activities. Currently two (2) nurses are assigned weekly on a rotating basis to provide on-call response coverage for the Worship Center, Children’s Church, the Preschool area, and Solomon’s Porch.

This ministry will also develop a Health and Wellness program to minister to church membership and the surrounding community in the pursuit of providing optimal health initiatives for all age groups. Examples include: health screenings, health fairs, and cancer awareness/prevention activities. Additionally, this ministry will work to mentor the next generation of health care professionals in our church membership.

If you would like to join with us as we continue to develop, please contact one of the following individuals: Selena Lollar at 608.9543; Brent Raley at 240.4601; or Susan Smith at 608.6020. TBC Student Ministry
