R‘99 / R‘00 General Treatment until CN#7
• Priority to R‘99 work-areas– open issues resolution
– debugging
– „negotiation of feasible content for R‘99“
– consideration of compatibility aspects
• Special attention to OSA, Multicall, Security
• Start of R‘00 with CN#7Exception: All IP-CN „Take-off“ meeting end Jan

R’00 All IP Core-network
• Kick-off meeting 31. January -- 02. February 2000
• P-00-118 Draft Report– Tutorial by S2
– Assessment by CN• architecture / services
• others (security,...)
– goal: prepare for decisions on what?, when?, who? at TSG#7
• Results– Joint Meeting with S2 agreed for April ‘00
Potentially some work transfer S2 --> CN working groups
– Tentatively some working group reorganisations
– Tentative allocation of work packages (interfaces) to workinggroups

R’99 Completion
• For R’99 completion the CN#6 established principles are:1) Exception from function freezing only allowed if stated in WI-
status sheets (SP-99602 (CN-view) and SP-99639 (SA#6 view))
2) Compatibility aspects for WI’s to be solved with R’99 (“Hooks”)
3) Specification of a restricted WI-subset for R’99
4) IF at CN#7• sufficient stability (incl. agreed documents) in work-area /sub-area
• no contentious issues
THEN R’99
ELSE R’00

Status on Multicall:
• Unclear requirements (stage1)
• No defined/approved basic assumptions(lack of „stage 1½ specification“ )– Supplementary Service CN working assumption now!!!!! or
– Network Feature or
– ????
• Interactions with other Supplementary Services (CW, CH)unspecified
• Prevention of incompatibilities eg/esp. in SCI area
• Workshop this week in Sophia Antipolis linked to SS-adhoc

Status on Multicall:
• Goal:– Stable documented principles end January
– identification of „viable Multicall phase1 R‘99“
– approval of resp. Material at CN#7
– Postponement of “add-on’s” to R’00 e.g. SCI
– CN not disputed WI to postpone to R‘00

Status on security
• Spirit: Give parts of it a chance for R‘99
• Status– Parts stable in CN since long (Quintuple download, Data Integrity)
– Requirement for EUIC, MAP Security (GSM Benefit!!),Authentication Failure in 12/99 for R’99
• Unbundle security package and identify the essentials (--> S3)
• Joined meeting begin Jan analysed MAP requirements
• Review of situation at CN#7
• To Learn:– Earlier involvement of affected groups
joined CN-S3 meeting May 2000 on R’00 requirements
– Better WI management within CN (work task identification)

TSG_CN / SMG3 Relation
• SMG3 almost virtual no real work in SMG3 any more
• almost all specifications are shared/common specifications
• From SMG3/TSG_CN perspective separation inSMG(3) and TSG_(CN) is artificial and disturbing
• Maintenance work for SMG only specs acceptable under someconditions (own agenda item, no disturbance of common workflow)
