All documents must be certified and Council holds the right to call for all original documents in terms of Section 15 of the Allied Health Professions Act 63 of 1982 as amended; iii. ENGLISH XITSONGA   REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS SWILAVEKO SWA NTSARISO   General requirements for all applications Swilaveko swo angarhela swa swikombelo hinkwaswo  i. Applicants with foreign qualifications Vaendli xa swikombelo lava nga na mithwaso ya le matikweni mambe  

i. Certified copy of qualification; i. Khopi leyi tiyisisiweke ya nthwaso;  ii. SAQA Certificate of Evaluation, stating that the applicant's qualification/s in the profession applying for is/are at least equivalent to the prescribed South Africa qualification;

ii. Xitifikheti xa Nkambelo xa SAQA, lexi xi hlamuselaka leswaku mithwaso/nthwaso wa muendli wa xikombelo eka phurofexini leyi ku endliwaka xikombelo eka yona wu ringana na nthwaso wa Afrika-Dzonga lowu lawuleriweke;  

iii. Copy of complete academic record for full duration of studies;

iii. Khopi ya rhekodo ya tidyondzo hi vutalo eka nkarhi hi vutalo wa ku dyondza;  

iv. Any documents submitted that are not in English must include a sworn translation of the content of the document in English;

iv. Tidokhumente tihi kumbe tihi leti ti tisiwaka leti nga riki hi Xinghezi ti fanele ku katsa vuhundzuluxeri lebyi hlambanyiweke bya leswi nga endzeni ka dokhumente leyi hi Xinghezi;  

v. Copy of Passport together with a valid work permit that entitles the person to practise the profession applying for in South Africa either under the terms and conditions of employment or in private practice; (In the event of a person not being able to obtain a work permit prior to registration, the Council will provide a letter for such purpose should the applicant meet all the requirements for registration);

v. vi. Proof that the qualification allows the applicant to practise the profession in the country where the qualification was obtained;

vi. Xitiyisiso xa leswaku nthwaso lowu wu pfumelela muendli wa xikombelo ku tirha phurofexini leyi etikweni laha nthwaso lowu wu kumekeke kona;  

 

 

vii. Proof of registration with the relevant statutory body in country of origin;

vii. Xitiyisiso xa ntsariso na huvo ya xinawu leyi faneleke etikweni leri a sukaka eka rona;  

viii. Original letter of good standing from the original relevant registering statutory body, which letter must state that the applicant does not have any pending disciplinary proceedings against him/her, or been sanctioned in terms of any disciplinary proceedings. The letter of good standing shall not be older than three (3) months;

viii. ix. Police Clearance Certificate; ix. Xitifikheti xo Basisa xa le Maphoriseni;  x. Current Level 1 First Aid Certificate; x. Xitifikheti xa Vutshunguri bya Xilamulelamhangu xa

Levhele ya 1 ya Nkarhi wa Sweswi;  xi. Should the qualification be older than five (5) years the applicant must provide a brief curriculum vitae, in order to establish whether the applicant has been practising the profession and thereby has kept up to date with the practice and the profession; and

xi. xii. The applicant may be required to do a competency assessment at an educational institution.

xii. Muendli wa xikombelo a nga ha laveka ku endla nkambelo wa vuswikoti eka nhlangano wa dyondzo.  

xiii. If approved for registration, the applicant will be required to successfully complete the Council's jurisprudence assessment, which assessment will be managed by the Administration.

xiii. Loko a pasisiwa ku va a tsarisiwa, muendli wa xikombelo u ta laveka ku hetisa hi ndlela leyi fambaka kahle nkambelo wa thiyori ya swa nawu wa Huvo, nkambelo lowu wu nga ta fambisiwa hi Va swa Mafambiselo.  

 

 

Application procedure Endlelo ra xikombelo  Only once all the documents and details as set out above have been received from an applicant, will the application be submitted to the Professional Board, which will review the application taking into consideration the subject requirements as stated in Regulation No.127 of 12 February 2001

Administration will conduct the relevant confirmatory check in respect of work permits with the Department of Home Affairs.

Va swa Mafambiselo va ta endla nkambisiso wo tiyisisa lowu faneleke hi mayelana na mipfumelelo yo tirha na Ndzawulo ya Timhaka ta Xikaya.  

Qualifications required for registration in diagnostic allied health professions:

Mithwaso leyi lavekaka eka ntsariso eka tiphurofexini ta swa rihanyu leti tirhisanaka to femba:  

Chiropractic and Homeopathy: Five year full time Masters Degree as currently offered at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and Durban University of Technology (DUT).

Khiropurakitiki (Chiropractic) na Vutitshunguri bya Miri (Homeopathy): Digiri ya Masitasi ya ntlhanu wa malembe hi vutalo tanihilaha eka nkarhi wa sweswi yi nyikiwaka hakona eka Yunivhesiti ya Joni (UJ) na Yunivhesiti ya Thekinoloji ya Durban (DUT).  

Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, Naturopathy, Phytotherapy and Unani-Tibb: Double Bachelors in one of the above as currently offered at the University of the Western Cape (UWC).

Vutshunguri bya Xichayina na Ntlhavelo (Acupuncture), Vutshunguri lebyi nga Tirhisiki Swidzidziharisi (Naturopathy), Therapi ya Mirhi yo Endliwa hi Swimilani (Phytotherapy) na Unani-Tibb: Tibachelara hi Kambirhi eka xin’we xa leswi nga laha henhla ti nyikiwa eka Yunivhesiti ya Kapa-Vupeladyambu (UWC).  

 

 

There are currently no accredited courses available in South Africa for Ayurveda and Osteopathy.

Eka nkarhi wa sweswi ku hava tikhoso leti nga na vululameri leti kumekaka eAfrika-Dzonga eka Ayurveda na Ositeyopati (Osteopathy).  

Qualifications required for registration in therapies: Mithwaso leyi lavekaka eka ntsariso eka titherapi:  Therapeutic Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Massage Therapy and Therapeutic Reflexology are 240 credit qualifications currently available at various accredited private providers, as listed under our Education page.
