This is a sixty percent research and fourty percent design academic project of a Prot-estant Church Complex at Chumukedima Dimapur in a North-Eastern state of India where 90 percent of the population are Christians and ever expanding. Since the Churches in this state are divided due to the diference in tribes and village. The pro-posed design is aimed at providing a platform of bringing the differences under one roof where the ssermons would be conducted in a common laungage.
The complex planed on a massive 8.2 acre is designed to also act as a community area for all groups of people. The design was aimed at displacing a worshiping capac-ity of about 2000 people and also provide provisions to accomodate peak capacities during festives and grand functions. The complex would contain other facilities that would provide Christian educations to all age groups and would be a platform for ex-perimenting and learning.
The basic approach to the design is to provide for all, by creating spaces and activity areas to contain all the needs of a Church to meet both the present and future needs. The design took into considerations the culture of the people who would be using the facilities and the manner in which the services are conducted.

(FALL 2009)
The project is a studio work of a hometown resi-dence. The site is located in a remote village in the northeastern part of India. The residence is designed at the foot of a hill on a mount. The design is inspired by the use of simple geomet-ric rigid form with differences in levels to allow maximum daylighting so as to minimise the use of artificial lighting. Every floor has been pro-vided with terrace to accomodate countryside viewpoints.
