The Devireg* 530 series is a line of electronicthermostats used for control of indoor heatingThe Devireg- 530 is used for control of floor heatinginstallations. The thermostat is equipped with a floorsensor for control of the desired floor temperature.The Devireg" 531 is used for control of room heatinginstallations. The thermostat is equipped Hnth a buih-inair sensor for control of the desired room temprdure.The Devireg" 532 is used for room heating instal-lations. The thermostat is equipped with a built-inroom sensor and an external floor limiter sensor. Theroom sensor is used for control of the room tempera-ture. The floor limiter sensor is used for maximumtemperature limitation in wooden floors and otherheat sensitive floors.

The Devireg- 530 series has a LED indicator abovethe 2 pole safety switch (see illustration).The LED has four indications:

. No light means the system is off.

. Red light means system is heating.

. Green light means system is standirg by.. Flalhing green light means there is a problemwith the floor sensor (onry appricable for 530and 532). Please refer to section about ,,Troubleshooting" for further information.

Maximum floor temperature is preset at the factoryto 35oC for cable temperature safety.

$ focal building regulations must be observed whenchanging the ma:rimum preset temperature.You canlmust set the ma:rimum floor temperatureon the Deviregl 532by taking offthe front cover andwith a screwdriver adjust the sunken temperature dialin the top left hand corner between 20o to 50"C.

When installing a thermostat from Devireg- 530series, you must first remove the front cover.To remove the front cover, gently press the releasetabs in the vents, at both sides and then puil off thefront.You do not need to remove the set point dial.

A m. installation must only be carried out by *authorised electrician.

The floor sensor should be mounted in a 5.7 mminstallation pipe which is sealed at the end to preventpenetration of concrete into the pipe. Minimumbending radius for the pipe is 50 mm.The sensor cable must be placed in between twostrings of the heating cable.

A fo avoid cracks in the concrete floor you must ensurethat the floor is completely hardened before the heatis switched on.

If a floor sensor is used, it is recommended to installit inside an insulating conduit, sealed at the end in thefloor, enabling easy replacement of the floor sensor ifrequired- If installed without a conduit, the floorsensor must be installed so that it is inaccessible andnot in contact with any conductive building parts.If the supplied floor sensor is too short, longer onescan be purchased from you local DEVI supplier or itcan be extended with proper materials.The floor sensor is a LIVE cable; therefore anyextension made to the sensor wiring should betreated as for normal mains voltage cabling.

Control of functioningIf the heat is not turned on by activating the ther-mostat, check the residual current device (RCD)and safety devices before contacting an authorisedelectrician.Fault No heat1) GeneralFirst of all, make sure that all cables, connected tothe thermostat, are properly installed - making surethat each wire connected to the thermostat, createsa solid contact to the screw terminal located on thethermostat.

2) Mains voltage (terminal 1 and 3)Measure the live supply voltage at terminal 1 and 3.The reading should be within specified range, accord-ing to the technical specifications. If not, check themain fuse.3) Thermostat output (terminal 2 and 4)Measure the voltage at terminal 2 and4, (activatedthermostat, red light). The reading should be thesame as previously measured at terminal 1 and 3.If the reading is OK, continue to the next step;if not - replace the thermostat.

5) External sensor input NTC (only for Devireg'" 530and"532)Disconnect the external NTC sensor 5 and 6 on thethermostat.Connect an ohm meter to the NTC sensor wire, andmeasure the ohm value (please refer to table on page15 for correct ohm value).The measured value should be within the specifiedrange according to the technical specifications. If not,replace the NTC sensor.
