BEFORE STARTING ENGINE:
1. Preflight inspection -- COMPLETE
2. Seats, Seat Belts, and Shoulder Harnesses -- ADJUST and LOCK
3. Brakes TEST
4. Circuit Breakers -- CHECK IN
5. Electrical Equipment -- OFF
6. Avionics Master Switch OFF
7. Autopilot -- OFF
8. Cowl Flaps OPEN
9. Fuel Selector Valve BOTH10.Avionics Circuit Breakers -- CHECK IN
STARTING ENGINE:
1. Throttle OPEN
2. Propeller HIGH RPM
3. Mixture -- IDLE CUT-OFF
4. Propeller Area -- CLEAR
5. Master Switch ON
6. Flashing Beacon ON
7. Auxiliary Fuel Pump -- ON
8. Mixture ADVANCE until fuel flow just starts to rise, then return to
9. IDLE CUT-OFF position
10.Auxiliary Fuel Pump OFF
11.Ignition Switch -- START (release when engine starts)
12.Mixture Advance smoothly to RICH when engine fires
13.Throttle 1000 RPM
14.Oil pressure -- CHECK
15.Mixture LEAN one inch for taxi16.Flaps UP
17.Navigation, Cockpit, and Taxi Lights -- ON as required
18.Avionics Master Switch ON

SHORT FIELD TAKEOFF:
1.Flaps -- 20
2. Brakes -- HOLD
3. Throttle -- FULL OPEN
4. Brakes -- RELEASE
5. Climb Speed -- 58 KIAS until obstacles cleared, then as appropriate
6. Flaps -- RETRACT after reaching 70 KIAS

NORMAL CLIMB:
1. Airspeed -- 85-95 KIAS
2. Power -- 23 or FULL THROTTLE (whichever is less)
3. RPM REDUCE to 2400 RPM4. Mixture 15 GPH or FULL RICH (whichever is less)
CRUISE:
1. Power 15-23, 2000-2400 RPM (no more than 80% is recommended)
2. Elevator Trim -- ADJUST
3.Mixture -- lean to peak EGT minus 125 F.
4. Cowl Flaps CLOSED
BEFORE LANDING:
1. Passenger Seat Backs MOST UPRIGHT POSITION
2. Seats & Seat Belts SECURED & LOCKED
3. Fuel Selector Valve -- BOTH
4. Mixture RICH
5. Propeller HIGH RPM
6. Strobe and Landing Lights -- ON
7. Autopilot -- OFF
NORMAL LANDING:
1. GPS Confirm self-test and altimeter setting
2. Transponder TEST, then STANDBY
3. Autopilot enter altimeter setting
4. Taxiing CHECK brakes immediately after airplane begins moving
DURING TURNS WHILE TAXIING:
1. Turn Coordinator -- Indicates skidding turn in proper direction
2. Heading Indicator -- Turns in proper direction
3. Magnetic Compass -- Turns in proper direction, bowl full of fluid

Propeller CYCLE from high to low to high RPM
Vacuum -- Normal operating rangeAmmeter -- CHECK
Engine Instruments CHECK
9. Throttle CHECK IDLE
10.Throttle -- 1000 RPM
11.Throttle Friction Lock -- ADJUST
12.Flight instruments SET:
Annunciator Panel No warnings illuminatedAttitude Indicator Check, Set for level flight
Vertical Speed Indicator -- Note indication of 0 fpm climb
Altimeter Should read within 75 of field elevation
Airspeed Indicator indicates 0
13.Pitot heat -- CHECK
14.Elevator & Rudder Trim SET for TAKEOFF
15.Communication Radio Tower or CTAF
16.Navigation Radios -- SET if flying cross-country
17.NAV/GPS HIS Switch -- SET
18.Autopilot -- OFF
Airspeed 70-80 KIAS (flaps UP)
Flaps 0-10 < 140 KIAS, 10-20 < 120 KIAS, FULL < 100 KIAS

Airspeed -- 60-70 KIAS (flaps DOWN)
SHORT OR SOFT FIELD LANDING:
1. Flaps FULL DOWN (below 100 KIAS)2. Airspeed -- 60 KIAS
BALKED LANDING:
1. Throttle -- FULL OPEN
2.Flaps -- RETRACT TO 20 (immediately)
3. Airspeed -- 55 KIAS (until obstacles are cleared)
4. Flaps -- RETRACT (after reaching a safe altitude and 70 KIAS)
5. Cowl Flaps OPEN
AFTER LANDING:
1. Flaps -- RETRACT
2. Cowl Flaps OPEN
3. Transponder -- STANDBY
SHUTDOWN:
1. Call for fuel on 130.65 @ DVT
2. Avionics Master Switch -- OFF
3. Electrical Equipment -- OFF (except flashing beacon)
4. Throttle -- IDLE
5. Mixture -- IDLE CUT-OFF
6. Ignition Switch -- OFF (after propeller stops turning)
7. Flashing Beacon -- OFF
8. Master Switch -- OFF
9. Control Lock -- INSTALL
10.Vents -- CLOSED11.Tiedowns -- SECURED
12.Flight Plan -- CLOSED
