WELCOME TO THE FIRST UTS AND UTS:INSEARCH PARTNER DAY AND OPEN DAY IN CHINA

agreements with 42 partner organisations in China for active research, teaching and various exchange and student activities. In 2010, UTS initiated our global Key Technology Partnership (KTP) program, including five prestigious partner universities in China, working together closely in deep, institution-wide, research-led partnerships.

UTS’s deep engagement with China is demonstrated by our ten Joint Research Centres (JRCs) with key partner institutions in China. In May 2014, UTS established the Australia-China Relations Institute (ACRI), a think tank dedicated to research and policy analysis on the Australia-China relationship.

Our first Partner Day in Beijing is a major event for UTS and our partners. It is a day of discussion and knowledge-sharing with all UTS and UTS:INSEARCH partners, plus a celebration of our friendship and successful collaboration. It is further demonstration of our commitment to pursuing excellence in international education, and dedication to working with our partners in China to achieve this aim.

We appreciate the support from our partners joining this event. We look forward to welcoming you all.

    Professor Attila BrungsVice-Chancellor and PresidentUTS

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is among one of the most internationalised universities in the world*. We are especially engaged with Asia and have a long and friendly history of partnerships in China.

In November 2014, during the state visit to Australia, President Xi Jiping and Mme Peng Liyuan, together with Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Mrs Abbott, officially unveiled and launched the China Library donated to UTS. The China Library is a rich information centre filled with books, audio visual materials, multimedia displays as well as reading and study areas. This is the only China library donated by the Chinese Government in the South Pacific region.

The SHU-UTS SILC Business School is one of the earliest and largest Sino-Western joint teaching ventures approved in China. Currently there are over 3500 students studying at SILC in Shanghai, and over 4000 Chinese students studying at UTS in Sydney. We have a network of partner agencies representing UTS in China, to assist students pursuing study abroad at UTS. We also have

*We are ranked in the Top 50 most international universities by Times Higher Education's Top 200 most international universities in the world 2016.

We believe strongly in people-to-people connections and operate thorough a well-established professional team based in China, INSEARCH Shanghai Limited (ISL), who have an office in Shanghai and are supported by our Sydney team. We are proud of the positive engagement ISL has with schools, principals, counsellors and channel partners to encourage students to envisage the benefits of an international education to expand their knowledge, horizons, opportunities and global outlook.

In building collaboration between UTS:INSEARCH, UTS and China, we supported the inaugural China Australia Millennial Project in 2015, and will collaborate on this innovative youth think-tank again in 2017. This collaboration is one way we are encouraging bilateral relations between Australia and China while fostering cultural understanding and business connections for the next generation of young leaders.

We are excited to be part of the first UTS China Partner Day and the first UTS and UTS:INSEARCH Open Day in Beijing, and look forward to sharing this important occasion with you.

    Thank you for joining us.

    Alex MurphyManaging Director UTS:INSEARCH

As the pathway to UTS, UTS:INSEARCH has been proudly helping students in their preparation for university studies for more than 25 years.

We are very grateful for the strong support of our network of partners who help us to make UTS:INSEARCH a leader in international pathway education. As a result, we welcome more than 4000 international students each year, and value our role in preparing them to thrive at Australia's #1 young university*.

Together with UTS, we provide exceptional courses that set students on the path to fulfilling their academic and career goals, while enjoying a life-transforming experience in Sydney.

To support more students in accessing our high quality programs, UTS:INSEARCH has strong partnerships with a select group of experienced educational partners globally, partnering on the delivery of our English and diploma programs. In China we collaborate with EIC for English preparation and SILC for delivery of our business diploma to Chinese students.
