In the coastal region of the South-Western part of India is situated the harbour townof Mangalapuram, or the city of Mangalore. Eternally blessed is the land ofenchantment of Sahyadri mountains. Bountiful rivers meandering down themountains and the nature is clothed in all her lush-full greenery. Narrow windingstreets, lofty coconut trees, quaint gable-roofed houses, beautiful beaches, temples and churches, the heady fragrance of Mangalore Mallige are few of themany things which makes Mangalore what it is.

The largest urban coastal centre of Karnataka, and the fourth largest city in thestate, Mangalore is demographically diverse with several languages includingTulu, Konkani, Kannada and Beary Bashe commonly spoken, and is the largest cityof the Tulu Nadu region. Mangalorean cuisine is largely influenced by the SouthIndian cuisine, with several cuisines being unique to the diverse communities of thecity. Mangalore Fish Curry is a popular dish in Kanara.
