inCentiVesThe Hyatt Regency Kiev (below) opened last summer in the historical centre on Tarasowa Street overlooking Saint Sophia Square. It offers 234 deluxe rooms, including 25 suites, and close to 1,000m2 of meeting and function space including a ballroom, eight meeting spaces and three boardrooms for six to 350 delegates.

Originally built in 1909 and completely renovated in 2005, the five-star Premier Palace Hotel has 289 rooms and suites. It has three conference rooms, including the Sofiyivskiy Grand Hall for up to 350 and a number of restaurants and bars, plus a beauty spa and salon.

Other five-star options include the 289-room Opera Hotel and the 255-room Radisson SAS (above), which has five meeting rooms seating 213 theatre-style or 250 for a reception.

The Ukraine capital is set to see its bedstock increased significantly in the run up to Euro 2012, with IHG planning three properties. It has just signed an agreement to open its first Crowne Plaza hotel in 2012, which will follow the Intercontinental Kiev, due to launch at the end of this year, and a Holiday Inn, due to open at the end of 2009.

The hotel complex «Yalta-Intourist» has finished prepara-tions for the holiday season 2009. walls have been renewed in the restaurant, a cosmetic repair carried out as well. The main entrance lobby of “Yalta-Intourist” has been reconstructed. While prepar-ing for the summer season 2009, the hotel has refurbished and enhanced its conference facilities. Among the recon-structed areas are the cinema hall “Zviozdny” on the 16th storey, holding up to 200 spectators; the conference hall “Alfa” with an open terrace; the meeting room “Omega”; and the conference hall “Fiolent”.

But the hotel’s greatest gift for both every citizen and every guest of the city is the fully reconstructed Crimea’s only Olympic swimming pool with warmed sea-water. In the course of reconstruction, new sea-water filtration and cycling systems were installed, interior finish of the pool deck renewed, and the recreation zone adjacent to the pool bettered. It is planed that the pool in “Yalta-Intourist” be switched to the all-year-round regime. So, the citizens and Yalta’s guests would be able to swim in the warm sea-water not only in sum-mer, but in winter as well.
