Vivekananda Kendra is a spiritually oriented non-profit making Service organization, with its head-quarter at Kanyakumari and registered under societies act of XXVI of 1960 (S. No. 34 of 1963),has been serving the Nation since 1972 with multifarious activities in the field of Education,Rural Development,Natural Resource Development, Health care, Publications etc. In order to cater the need of Man Making - Nation Building as envisioned by Swami Vivekananda,Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari is presently having 54 Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas in the North-East India besides its various branch centres and other services like health care, rural welfare projects and cultural research centres. Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya(VKV), Borojalenga, Cachar has been established in the year 2014.VKV Borojalenga which is taken over by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari this year started in the locality in 2007. Due to the involvement, owning and co-operation of the local people the Vidyalaya has grown beautifully in all aspects in last couple of years. After getting a suitable land for the school in the Borojalenga area which is one of the Block Head quarters of Cachar district of Assam within the tea garden area, Vivekananda Kendra has been given the responsibility to look after the school as one of its school in Assam. VKV Borojalenga is 4 km away from Assam University, Silchar and 24 km away from silchar & Hailakandi town. The functioning of the vidyalaya in its unique way of imparting socio cultural and Nationalistic Education along with prescribed CBSE syllabus has earned tremendous response and support from the people of the locality. The school is presently being run from a rented accommodation at Irongmara. The school is now in take-off stage and is poised for massive augmentation in terms of construction of school buildings and other facilities at the permanent campus. Presently the Vidyalaya is up to middle level having an enrollment of more than 300. It may not be out of place to mention here that there is a great demand for a good quality school in the locality. The initial estimated cost for the first phase of construction of new school building along with other facilities is Rs.90.00 lakhs, which will be required within a period of 1 year. In view of the above, we solicit your kind co-operation and financial support for construction of the school building. We are banking on the generosity of public spirited citizens to make this project a reality. We seek your whole-hearted participation in this noble venture, the benefits of which will go largely to the rural and urban young boys and girls specially from the less affluent sections of society.
