“REACHING SINNERS, TEACHING SAINTS, AND MAKING DISCIPLES”

Marshall Chapel Review

In December, the Youth of Marshall Chapel under the direction of Sister Mary Jones and Sister Joyce Hams, held the annual Christmas Program. The congregation was blessed with scripture, songs, and a inspirational praise dance. The finale was Pastor Jones and the Ministerial Staff of Pastor Hester, Parker and Teel singing a rendition of Silent Night by the Temptations!

KEEPING THE DREAM ALIVE PEACE AND UNITY MARCH

On January 16, 2017, the Annual Keeping the Dream Alive Peace and Unity March took place in downtown Jacksonville. This year marks the 10th year the community marched together to pay tribute to the legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sister Mary Moore the founder of the committee stated as she watched the crowd it brought her back to the times she marched for civil rights while attending Durham Business College.

On January 21, 2017, Marshall Chapel hosted a Youth Summit. Surrounding Law Enforcement from Onslow County and youth from area churches came out for this very informative discussion. In attendance were police officers, both current and retired, FBI Agents, Detectives as well as other officials. There was a panel discussion and a reenactment of “how you should act if you get stopped by the police” and then a question and answer section. The youth as well as adults received very good information. Two mothers also shared the emotional stories of losing their beloved children to drugs.

In February, Pastor Tony Credle came to Marshall Chapel for the Winter Revival, each night was filled with singing and preaching. On the first night his message was “Taken or Mistaken, What Will You Be?” The second night was “That Cat Has Got to Go” and the third and final night was “It’s Time to Soup up the Church”. If you missed any of the revival and you would like to purchase a DVD please see Sister Marina Williams or Sister Joyce Hams.

Marshall Chapel is supporting the Morton Elementary School from October 2016 – June

2017 for the Backpack Buddies Program. If you would like to contribute please donate five dollars per person weekly for nine months. This will equal $45.00 for the school year. This amount feeds 25 students every week until the school year ends. The school chooses the students and they are anonymous to us. The monetary donations are

collected by the Auxiliaries and Church members; and subsequently turned in to Sister Marina Williams. Sister Tikishia Smiley shops, prepares and delivers the bags each week to the school. It is a labor of love. Thank you for your Support of Marshall Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Backpack Buddies Program.
