To quote the Psalmist, we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). Truly the design of the human body is one of the greatest marvels of His works. As diverse as the human population may be, the truth rings loud and clear, all of us were created in the image of God. Look no farther than the systems of the body and we will find the signature of our Creator.

We have been studying about the human body. In this webquest, we will begin by reviewing some of the concepts we have already learned. Then we will explore the sense organs of the body, which are those organs that make life worth living!

We were created in the image of God, with five senses to experience the wonders of His works. Some scientists may say that our senses are merely for the purpose of survival, but this is only partially true. Just as God takes pleasure in His creation, He desires us to take pleasure in living. How could this be possible without our abilities to see, hear, smell, touch, or taste? Consider the following verses…

Our sense of smell brings both pleasant an unpleasant experiences in our lives. The smell of a rose is much different than the smell of garbage. Our sense of smell also helps us to distinguish how safe an environment is; like when we smell the smoke of a dangerous fire.
