Lehrerinformationen und Materialaufstellung

In einer immer globaler werdenden Welt sind das Wissen über andere Länder bzw. Kulturen sowie das Anbahnen interkultureller Kompetenz ein wichtiger Bestandteil des frühen Fremdsprachenunterrichts. Der Englischunterricht bietet verschiedene Möglichkeiten, die Schüler auf englischsprachige Länder aufmerksam zu machen und sie anhand von authentischen Dialogen auf mögliche Alltagssituationen im Ausland vorzubereiten. Das Kennenlernen berühmter Sehenswürdigkeiten weckt das Interesse der Kinder sowie ihre Offenheit gegenüber anderen Ländern. In diesem Band werden die Länder England, USA sowie Australien abgedeckt. Die Thematisierung der verschiedenen Länder bietet nicht nur im Englischunterricht vielfältige Möglichkeiten, sondern kann auch fächerübergreifend behandelt werden.

Im Fremdsprachenunterricht der Grundschule ist die wichtigste Fertigkeit das Sprechen. Hinzu kommen die weiteren Fertigkeiten Hören, Lesen und Schreiben. Die Stationsarbeiten sind so gestaltet, dass alle Fertigkeiten gefordert und gefördert werden. Es werden immer verschiedene Fertigkeiten angesprochen, die einzelnen Piktogramme zeigen diese jeweils an.

Auch auf Differenzierungen wurde großen Wert gelegt, denn nicht jede Aufgabe passt zu jedem Kind. Dazu wird qualitativ, quantitativ und natürlich differenziert. Die jeweiligen Differenzierungen sind mit einem Stern gekennzeichnet.

Um das Prinzip der Einsprachigkeit im Englischunterricht gewährleisten zu können, wurden die Arbeits-anweisungen ausschließlich in Englisch verfasst und durch grafische Darstellungen unterstützt.

Damit die Stationsarbeit von den Kindern gut umgesetzt werden kann, sollten die Wörter der jeweiligen Einheit zunächst gut von der Lehrkraft vorentlastet werden. Das heißt, die Klasse übt spielerisch die neuen Vokabeln ein und lernt das Schriftbild gemeinsam kennen. Erst dann sollten die Kinder mit der Stationsarbeit vertraut gemacht werden. Als Einstieg in das jeweilige Thema bieten sich z. B. ein Video, eine Fotoshow oder Urlaubsbilder eines Kindes mit Impressionen des jeweiligen Landes an, da es die Kinder darauf einstimmt und motiviert. Die verschiedenen Länder bieten viele Möglichkeiten, den Klassenraum landestypisch zu gestalten und die Schüler Material, Souvenirs etc. mitbringen zu lassen.

Es empfiehlt sich, die Stationen gemeinsam zu betrachten, die Symbole und den Laufzettel zu be-sprechen und alle auftretenden Fragen zu klären. Während der kompletten Stationsarbeitszeit sollten die Bild- und Wortkarten immer präsent in der Klasse zu sehen sein, da diese die Kinder unterstützen und auch natürlich differenzieren. Die Lösungsblätter sollten im Klassenraum aushängen oder unter Sta tionen immer zugänglich sein. So lernen die Kinder gleichzeitig, sich selbstständig zu kontrollieren. Die Lehrkraft beobachtet, unterstützt und korrigiert die Kinder während ihrer Arbeit und sorgt für die nötige Atmosphäre.

Die Arbeit an den Stationen beinhaltet auch teilweise Aufgaben, wie z. B. Dialoge, die der Klasse oder der Lehrkraft präsentiert werden können. Die Präsentationen und Dialoge können evtl. aufgenommen werden, damit die Kinder sie sich beim Üben immer wieder anhören können. Diese bieten ebenfalls eine gute Grundlage, die Kinder sprachlich einzuordnen und zu beobachten. Die Kinder sollten während der Arbeit an den Stationen die Chance bekommen, ihre Dialoge oder Reime der Klasse zu präsentieren. Daher sollte am Ende einer Englischstunde immer eine kurze “presentation time“ eingeplant werden.

Als Abschluss der Stationsarbeit können die Schüler ein Zertifikat erhalten, welches sie zu Experten des jeweiligen Landes auszeichnet. An dieser Stelle könnte die Lehrkraft auch ein Foto des Kindes mit landestypischen Utensilien aufnehmen und auf das Zertifikat kleben.
