Wilson’s Australian Made Blockout Blind Fabrics are all rated to Ultraviolet Protection Factor UPF 50+ which is the highest rating, providing “Excellent Protection” from the harmful ultraviolet radiation.

UPF testing involves exposing a fabric to ultraviolet radiation (UVR) and measuring how much is transmitted through the sample.

UV radiation is part of the light spectrum that has wavelengths shorter than visible light, making it invisible to the naked eye. These wavelengths are classified as UVA, UVB, or UVC.

UVC rays are mostly absorbed by the ozone layer and do not reach the earth, however both UVA and UVB penetrate the atmosphere and play an important role in conditions such as premature skin aging, eye damage (including cataracts), and skin cancers. They also suppress the immune system, reducing your ability to fight off these and other maladies. Wilson’s Blockout Blind Fabrics let through 0.000 UVA and UVB rays, making them excellent at protecting against harmful UV radiation.

Additional InformationCARE INSTRUCTIONS

6Z - BLINDSDo not allow dust to accumulate. Regularly gently vacuum with appropriate attachment. Do not wash. Do not dry clean. Warm iron if needed. Test in inconspicuous area with mild detergent solution prior to spot cleaning. Do not allow blind to become fully wet, use damp cloth only.

CUTTING RECOMMENDATIONS: Wilson Blinds can be cut using any method (crush or knife cut) unless specified as Ultrasonic Cutting Only, which is noted on the relevant ranges / pages.

WILSON BLINDS ARE SUITABLE FOR APPLICATIONS AS SPECIFIED

6 - COATED DRAPERYCoated fabrics. Dry clean or wash. For use on acrylic foam backed fabrics and flock coated fabrics of both man-made fibres and cotton. Regular care will minimise the need for additional cleaning. Gently vacuum with appropriate attachment. Always exercise caution when spot cleaning. Test cleaning on non-exposed surface. Avoid excessive rubbing and abrasion. Remove hooks, rings & trims before cleaning. Possible Shrinkage 3%. Dry cleaning: Use specialist curtain dry cleaners as recognised by the Soft Furnishings Industry Association of Australia Inc. For perchloroethylene: Solvent temperature 18–20°C. No moisture, gentle cycle, moderate loading (approx. 50% capacity) to minimise mechanical action. One bath dry cleaning procedure: 3 minutes passing through the filter, reduced mechanical action, 2 minutes drain to tank or still, 2 minutes extract to tank or still. Two stage drying procedure: 25 minutes drying at 55°C, then 6 minutes drying at 35°C. Deodorise 6 minutes or until curtains are cool. For white spirit or hydrocarbon: Standard cleaning practices are appropriate. Hang curtains upon removal from machine. Do not iron/press coated side. Warm iron/press on fabric side only. Washing: Curtains are heavy when wet. Professional wet cleaning recommended. Do not wash in domestic washing machine. Hand wash in cool to warm water (max. 40°C). Mild detergents such as wool mixes are recommended. Do not bleach, soak, rub or wring. Drip dry in shade. Do not tumble dry. Hang curtains by their hooks to avoid coated sides touching. Do not use pegs. Do not fold curtains over clothes lines. Do not iron/press on coated sides. Warm iron/press on fabric side only.* For detailed code of practice for cleaning coated fabrics, dry cleaners are encouraged to contact the DIA.
