DESCRIPTION
WOOMAN magazine started as a part of the women empowerment project WOMEN ART AND ACTIVISM MONTH (WAAM) that took place and was realized in Kragujevac, Serbia in September of 2012. The initial idea was to collect feminist artwork, as well as poetry and critiques on one place in order to empower feminist artists and to provide recommendations for film, music and books at one place. In front of you is the very first issue of this newborn magazine, designed by Aleksandra Ninkovic, in collaboration with Sanja Solunac and a lot of other women who decided to participate by submitting their artwork. This project was supported and sponsored by the US Embassy, World Learning, SKC Kragujevac, Center for Women Studies Belgrade etc.
