HOSTS PROGRAMME
1 Introduction
This is a form of senior mentorship programme between older more experienced students (Form 4 students) of the school and new students (Form 1) who have failed their diagnostic test taken in January 2011. This supportive relationship is aimed at encouraging weaker students to raise their proficiency level in the language. HOSTS programme helps to support our existing academic programmes towards the achievement of goals as stated in the annual startegic plan.
2 Aims and objectives
Aim
The principal aim of the HOSTS programme is to assist first year students in their language proficiency.
Objectives
To help poor leraners to acquire the necessary skills to become independent learners To increase the percentage of passes in the English Language in examinations To hone the leadership and social skills of the facilitators To develop and enhance students love for the language

ACTIVITY 2[1] Read all the words in each line.[2] Ask SS to rearrange using numbers( see if it makes sense)[3] If arrangement is correct ask SS to write sentence in the space provided (make sure they try until they succeed in all 8 sentences)
ACTIVITY 3[1] Ask SS to make sentences using words given.[2] Write sentence down. Use Grammy box to check.[3] If wrong guide them so that the sentences are grammatically correct.
