NEC and NTT DOCOMO conduct verification trials of Massive MIMO technology to realize 5G

▌Concurrent communication with several handsets while maintaining high communication quality

▌The trials also verified that spectral efficiency was reliably maintained at a level roughly eight times higher than that achieved by LTE in indoor environments

Honda’s connected cars will communicate over 5G

The auto-maker's AI-assisted cars will talk to each other over SoftBank's 5G

network at a racecourse in Japan

▌Starting in 2018, SoftBankwill install 5G base stations at the auto-maker's TakasuProving Ground closed test course in Hokkaido, Japan. The 6.8 km circular course serves as a stomping ground for Honda's smart cars, and soon they'll be talking over wireless networks while speeding around
