Major data source: USDA World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimatesreleased May 10, 2016. Projections will change over the course of the yeardepending on weather and other developments.
1. 2016/17年度全球小麦产量将减少 1% 至 7.27亿吨– 预计全球供应量将创下9.70亿吨的记录，比2015/16年的记录增加2%– 黑海地区小麦产量预计达到1.00亿吨, 比上一年度减少 2% – 美国小麦产量预计达到54.4百万吨，比五年平均少 4%
2. 预计消费量达到7.13亿吨，比2015/16年度增加1%– 中国消费量预计达到1.10亿吨，比2015/16年度减少 1% , 仍然占全球消费量的 15% – 菲律宾国内消费量预计增加至 4.85 百万吨, 比2015/16年度增加5%– 美国消费量预计比上一年增加 3% ，达到 32.7 百万吨
3. 全球小麦贸易量预计达到 1.64 亿吨, 高于五年平均值3%, 但是比2015/16年度1.66亿吨的纪录下降了2%

Highlights of USDA’s 2016/17 Supply and Demand Estimates
1. 2016/17 global wheat production will fall 1% to 727 MMT– Global supplies estimate to reach new record of 970 MMT; up 2% from the 2015/16 record– Wheat production for the Black Sea estimated at 100 MMT, 2% lower than the prior year– US wheat production estimated 4% lower than the 5-year average at 54.4 MMT
2. Consumption forecast at 713 MMT, up 1% from 2015/16– Chinese consumption estimated at 110 MMT, 1% lower than 2015/16, still 15% of world wheat
consumption– Domestic consumption in the Philippines forecast to rise to 4.85 MMT, up 5% from 2015/16– US consumption expected to rise 3% year over year to 32.7 MMT
3. World wheat trade projected at 164 MMT, 3% greater than 5-year average, but 2% lower than the 2015/16 record 166 MMT
– Canadian exports to fall to 20.0 MMT, down 11% from 2015/16 and 6% below the 5-year average– Black Sea exports down 9% year over year at 43.0 MMT– US exports to reach 23.8 MMT up 12% from 2015/16, still 10% below the 5-year average

4. World beginning stocks estimated at record 243 MMT, up 12% year over year– European Union (EU) beginning stocks will climb to 19.0 MMT, 59% above the 5-year
average– Beginning stocks in South America will fall an estimated 45% to 4.54 MMT in 2016/17– Canadian beginning stocks will fall to 3.86 MMT, 45% below 2015/16 levels
5. Global ending stocks projected at record 257 MMT, 6% higher than 2015/16, if realized– Estimated Chinese ending stocks of 118 MMT account for 46% of global ending stocks,
22% greater than 2015/16 – US ending stocks to grow 5% year over year to 28.0 MMT
6. U.S. farm gate average price forecast 16% lower than 2015/16– Projected average range: $3.70 to $4.50/bushel ($136-$165/MT)*
