Womens Sports Foundation

A Force For Change

In 1974, Billie Jean King established the Womens SportsFoundation a charitable organization that advocates forgender equality in sports and encourage girls to get onthe field.

GoGirlGo! Our campaign to get 1 million inactive girlsactive and prevent another 1 million girls from droppingout of sports

Among the top 5 U.S. public grant-making womens

funds GoGirlGo! Curriculum Program was selected as a goldaward winner in the 2004 and 2006 annual NationalHealth Information Awards recognizing the nations besthealth information programs

Research and positions generate 1.5 billion mediaimpressions annually

Our website receives over 9 million hits a month and wehave a monthly distribution list of over 22,000passionate womens sports supporters

High school boys receive 40% more chances to play varsity sports than girls

If a girl does not participate in sports by the time she is 10, there is only a 10%chance she will participate when she is 25
