This summary contains two complete [indented] articles that cannot be hyperlinked; both illustrate the

profundity of the issues that BHO appears to continue to ignore.

Iran. Netanyahu continues to claim Iran Will Hit Red Line in 'Weeks', as the House Urges Increasing

    Pressure on Iran.

Israel. Congress and Administration Spar over Israeli Visas, as NYCs De Blasio Threatens to Pull JFK

Airport Slot From Saudi Arabian Airlines for Blocking Israelis From Flights. Myths & Facts regarding the

history of the Middle East Conflict have been maintained faithfully byMitchell G. Bard; an update relates

accept the existence of a Jewish State. Meanwhile,Two Palestinian Women Disguised as Orthodox Jews

Hamas. Yesterday, the Zionist Organization of America protested a report that the BHO-Administration

had met With Hamas Officials; as per a fleeting report on tonights FNC Special Report, the slippery

DoS-spokeswoman appeared to backtrack from the appearance thereof. In a related matter, note the

following letter that was remitted earlier today:

    July 15, 2013

    Mr. Michael A. Hammer

Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Public Affairs

    U.S. Department of State

    2201 C Street NW

    Washington, DC 20520

    Dear Mr. Hammer:

We write on behalf of the Zionist Organization of America, the oldest and one of the

largest pro-Israel organizations in the U.S., to bring to your attention a significant and

disgraceful substantive error in a press release issued by the State Department last

Wednesday, July 10, 2013. We urge you to correct the error immediately.

The press release, entitled U.S. Department of State Announces Museums Connect

Cultural Exchange 2013 Awardees, states that the Palestinian Heritage Museum is

located in East Jerusalem, Palestinian Territories (emphasis added). The State

Department should not be referring to East Jerusalem as part of the Palestinian

Territories. The statement is inaccurate, contradicting longstanding U.S. policy that the

status of Jerusalem is as yet undetermined and must be resolved in final status

negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Arabs.

Besides contravening U.S. policy, the State Departments statement about East

Jerusalem is also an affront to the Jewish people. It disregards over 3000 years of

Jewish history and the unbroken Jewish connection to all of Jerusalem especially East

Jerusalem, where the Western Wall and the Temple Mount, Judaisms holiest site, are

    located.

Even when the Jews were exiled from the Land of Israel, Jerusalem was the focus of

their prayers and uppermost in their hearts and minds. When Jews pray, they face

Jerusalem. Muslims, by contrast, face Mecca. Jerusalem is mentioned more than 600

times in the Jewish Torah. By contrast, the Koran does not mention Jerusalem at all.

Even after the Arabs captured and occupied East Jerusalem, it was never the capital of

any Arab entity. Jordans capital remained Amman. Only one country recognized

Jordans annexation of East Jerusalem; every other country, including the Arab states,

    rejected it.

The State Departments erroneous public statement about East Jerusalem also shows a

lack of respect for the democratic government of Israel. In 1980, the Israeli Knessetpassed a law affirming that a united Jerusalem is Israels capital. Significantly, the law

also affirmed the freedom of religion for all religious faiths in Jerusalem, a freedom that

was denied when Jordan occupied East Jerusalem.

Jordan desecrated Jewish holy places when it occupied East Jerusalem. Fifty-eight

synagogues and 38,000 Jewish cemetery headstones were destroyed.

Jordan also imposed restrictions on Christian worship. Christians had limited access to

their holy places, opening Christian schools was restricted and the Koran had to be

taught in them, and Christian religious and charitable groups were prevented from

acquiring real estate in Jerusalem. Approximately half of Jerusalems Christianpopulation left Jerusalem because of Jordans oppression.

Indeed, East Jerusalem was seemingly unimportant to Jordan because it failed to

provide even the most basic municipal services there. East Jerusalems residents lacked

electricity, plumbing, health care services and even a steady water supply.

It was only when Israel reunified the city that the Arab mistreatment of East Jerusalem

ended. It was Israel that began providing those badly needed municipal services to East

Jerusalem, including to Arab homes and businesses. Arab residents are given the choice

of becoming citizens of Israel. Even those who decide not to become citizens can vote in

municipal elections and are involved in administering the city.

For the State Department to now publicly proclaim that East Jerusalem belongs to the

Palestinian Arabs ignores and disrespects the fact that it is Israel that has safeguarded

all of Jerusalem, including East Jerusalem, for people of every religion.

Please ensure that the error identifying East Jerusalem as part of the Palestinian

Territories is corrected immediately on the State Departments Web site, and that the

error does not recur. It sends the wrong message to the American public, to our ally

Israel, and to the rest of the world.

Afghanistan. Afghan Says Peace Effort Will Continue.

Pakistan. Dr. Afridi Faces Trial Over bin Laden Raid:

A Pakistani commission has ruled that Shakil Afridi, the doctor who helped the United

States track down Osama bin Laden, should be put on trial for his role in the affair

even though it concedes he has already been jailed on "trumped-up charges."

As the Insider Report disclosed most recently in May, Afridi was arrested weeks after

the U.S. raid on Abbottabad, Pakistan, where al-Qaida leader bin Laden was living in a

compound. American officials later said Afridi had helped in the hunt for the terrorist

chief by conducting a vaccination campaign in Abbottabad to obtain DNA evidence from

the compound confirming that bin Laden was hiding there.

He was accused of being a "national criminal" who should be tried for high treason.

In May 2012, a court in the tribal area near the Afghan border sentenced Afridi to 33

years in prison after convicting him of providing assistance to an obscure military group

    in the area.

The Pakistani commission of inquiry, criticizing that charge as "trumped-up," said it had

"completely undermined the credibility of the country and its judicial process,"

according to a leaked version of the commission's report obtained by Al Jazeera.

Afridi is one of more than 200 witnesses whose testimony appears in the report, and the

commission said he should be tried to determine "the extent and nature of hisinvolvement" in the Abbottabad raid.

If he is tried and convicted, he could face further punishment.

Afridi testified that he was unaware his vaccination campaign was a front for the CIA.

The campaign ended on April 23, 2011, nine days before the raid, and Afridi was

    arrested three weeks later.

The report noted: "Afridi told the commission that had he been guilty, he would have

disappeared immediately before or after the raid."

Two Republican lawmakers, Sen. Rand Paul and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, have urged

Congress to make Afridi's release a condition for continuing U.S. aid.

"The U.S. ambassador should be recalled and legislation should be passed to withhold

foreign aid to Pakistan as long as they are doing the bidding of terrorists and persecuting

the likes of Dr. Afridi," Rohrabacher said.

His statement was released after news broke that Afridi was on a hunger strike in jail to

protest his harsh treatment, the Insider Report also disclosed.

Afridi told Fox News he was brutally tortured by Pakistani intelligence agents. He also

said the Pakistanis told him "the Americans are our worst enemies, worse than the

Indians," and that Pakistan's claims of cooperation with America are a sham to "extract"

    billions in U.S. aid.

The Obama administration requested $1.4 billion in aid to Pakistan in its fiscal 2014

    State Department budget proposal.
