AbstractVarious methods are used to control the room humidity, one of them is a dehumidification system. By utilizing aliquid desiccant such as CaCl2, relative humidity values can be suppressed in accordance with the specified variable.Numerical simulations are used to determine the temperature distribution and relative humidity in the room usingComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The experimentuse a liquid desiccant concentration of 50%, temperature of 10°C, nozzle dimension of 0.2 mm, and constant inlet air flow rate of 2.35 m3/min. Simulation results show averagetemperature distribution of 30.93 °C and RH of 62.80% in the room. CFD software Solidworks Flow Simulation 2014is used for simulation. © 2017 American Scientific Publishers. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT
Algal communities possess many attributes as biological indicators of spatial and temporal environmental
changes. Algal parameters, especially the community structural and functional variables that have been used in
biological monitoring programs, are highlighted in this document. Biological indicators like algae have only
recently been included in water quality assessments in some areas of Malaysia. The use of algal parameters in
identifying various types of water degradation is essential and complementary to other environmental indicators.

TOWARDS GREEN BUILDING IMPLEMENTATION IN INDONESIA: LESSONSLEARNED FROM SINGAPORE

ABSTRACT
While green building implementation in Indonesia is still in its infancy, Singapore has long been recognized asone of top leaders in green building implementation in the world. With a sustainable vision of "greening 80% ofall buildings in Singapore before 2030" and a national policy called “Green Mark Scheme”, it has successfullyachieved more than 30% of the target in May 2016 with more than 2,700 buildings are Green Mark certified.The aim of this study is to explore lessons learned from Singapore’s green building implementation successstory to be adopted in Indonesia. The objectives are to identify; 1) road map of Singapore's green buildingimplementation, 2) drivers and key success factors, 3) challenges of Singapore’s green building implementation.A comprehensive literature review is used to address these objectives. The results show that to support its stronggreen vision, Singapore has prepared a comprehensive master plan for its green building implementation and aseries of regulation, standards & certification programme. Key success factors identified include governmentpolicy, incentives, and strong partnership with regulatory agencies, NGOs and related industries. Despite itscurrent success, Singapore is still facing challenges, particularly in terms of large number of existing buildingsto be certified, and high usage of natural resources and materials in construction activities. These lessons learnedare very valuable to build a strategic framework for green building implementation in Indonesia.

HANDLING AND USING WASTE CABBAGE AS FEED ADDITIVE ON CALFSTARTER AND IT’S EFFECT TO MICROBIOLOGY QUALITY

ABSTRACT
The reticulo-rumen completely develops both physically and metabolically at birth, which is optimal in 2-6weeks age. Feeding calf starter (CS) after birth can promote rumen development. However, young calves tend toeasily diarrhea caused by E. coli from environment and cause death. Giving antibiotic can suppress E coli, but ithas negative effect. Lactobacillus sp is a probiotic bacterium as lactic acid bacteria that can suppress populationsof E. coli and it can replace antibiotics. Waste cabbage naturally content lactobacillus sp. The fermentationprocess can increase lactobacillus sp in the waste cabbage. The aim of this research is to examine the effect ofaddition fermented waste cabbage in calf starter pellets on total bacteria and lactic acid bacteria. The materialsof calf starter were corn, soybean meal, rice bran, molasses, mineral mix and materials in fermented wastecabbage were cabbage waste, sugar and salt. Research used completely randomized design with 4 treatmentsand 5 replications (T0: 0% fermented waste cabbage + 100% calf starter, T1: 2% fermented waste cabbage +100% calf starter, T2: 4% fermented waste cabbage + 100% calf starter , T3: 6% fermented waste cabbage +100% calf starter). The parameters measured were total lactic acid bacteria and Escherichia coli. The data wereanalyzed with descriptive analyze. Results showed that the more addition of fermented waste cabbage, thehigher the count of lactic acid bacteria (T0: 3,3x105cfu/g; T1: 6,0x105cfu/g; T2: 6,3x105cfu/g;T3:8,0x106cfu/g) and there were no bacteria Escherichia coli present on calf starter pellets.

DECENTRALIZATION OF WASTE MANAGEMENT IN GREATER KHARTOUM-SUDAN

ABSTRACT
The Greater Khartoum is the three towns capital of the Sudan (Khartoum, Khartoum North and Omdurman). Itwitnesses rapid unorganized and sometimes unauthorized urban growth. About 6 million people live in it. Thecapital covers a huge area with relatively low population density. It faces a continuous and serious problems ofwaste management. These problems are basically the classification of waste, collection, transportation, dumpingand recycling. Many attempts were tried to solve these problems. However, the outcome is very disappointing.The objective of this paper is to introduce a decentralization concept based on geographical knowledge for thethree towns and their seven localities to solve the problems related to waste management in Greater Khartoum.The major method of study is to apply GIS to determine primary collecting spots in the localities as well asdrawing routes for collecting and transporting waste of different types to the dumping sites. Also, a randomsample of the population is asked to see the satisfaction of the current waste management and the proposeddecentralized one. The main finding is that the population is very enthusiastic for the decentralization plan ofwaste management.
