Low Torques are achieved with special design seat of TFM1600*; allowing low and stable torques. All 2, 3 & 4 series Ball Valves are supplied with TFM® seats as standard, reducing the need for multiple seat options.

INVESTMENT CASTING

Casting is approved to AD-W0/TRD100. By meeting these stringent casting requirements, the TOMOE Ball Valve matches the high quality standards as it reputable Butterfly Valves.

Stainless steel is one of the most common investment casting materials. This is primarily due to the expense of the raw material. Investment castings can produce near net shapes with very little secondary operations required. This allows very little waste of raw material; thus reducing overall costs. Whereas machining a similar part can produce significant waste depending on the part, greatly increasing overall cost.

ISO 5211 Direct Mount

ISO 5211 mounting pad makes installation on TOMOE Ball Valves and mounting of actuators simple and economical.

Stems are back-seated and therefore blowout proof. And they provide metal-to-metal backup sealing in the event of a fire. This secondary metal-to-metal sealing is also provided internally behind the seat area.

Belleville Washers with Locking Nut cover to prevent loosening of gland nut due to vibration; providing maximum stem sealing performance even on high cycle applications.

Low And Stable Operating Torque –TFM1600 Seat Material

Surface Area that Is in contact with the ball’s surface and the pressure acting on the surfacewill contribute to the torque requirement of the valve. Smaller Surface area will result in lower torque

TFM 1600 is a second generation modified PolyTetraFluro-Ethylene (PTFE). With lesser than 1% of the same modifier(PPVE-Perfluropropyl vinyl ether) incorporates as in PFA.

TFM1600 is still classified as a homo-polymer under ISO 12086.

Type of Teflon(1) Fluoropolymer TFE : This is a polymer

named “Teflon” which was first developed by Du Pont Corporation. This white opaque material does not flow at a temperature exceeding its melting point of 327°C. This characteristic feature allows a calcination after a preliminary molding by a process similar to sintering. This method is not applicable to a product having a complicated form, where machining is usually required for a precise finish.

Type of Teflon(2) Flouropolymer PFA : This is the newer type of

“Teflon”. Heat-resistant and easy for molding: A transfer molding for a large product and an injection molding for a small size. PFA as well as FEP is hot melt molded into a semitransparent product. The semi-transparency enables you to see through the core of molding and also see pin holes, voids or other defects if any. The polymer of this type has similar structure to TFE with an O–Rf replacing a fluorine atom (The Rf represents per-fluoroalkylate). The O–Rf gives a property of allowing hot melt molding.

Type of Teflon(3) TFM 1600 is a second generation

SEAT DESIGN

•TFM 1600 resilient seats are offered as standard.

•This ensures bi-directional, bubble-tight sealing and simultaneously provides the lowest possible torque.

•The seat slots help to relieve pressure past the upstream seat.

•This design lowers the friction, seat wear and operating torque.

•TOMOE designed the seat curvatures to minimize contact forces between the ball and seat when in open position.

•This design again helps to lower the friction, seat wear and operating torque.

•TOMOE offers precision machined, solid, stainless steel ball that is mirror finished for bubble-tight shut-off and reduced operating torque.

•The critical ball edge has blended curvatures for reduced seat wear and enhances high cycle life.

•The hole in the stem slot is an added safety feature. It allows the pressure between the body cavity and the line media to equalize when in open position.
