TROPICAL FORESTS
NERC has agreed to invest £8M in the Biodiversity and ecosystem Processes in Human Modified Tropical Forests Program. NERC’s investment consists of £4.8M for work associated with the SAFE platform in SE Asia, 1.6M to develop new technologies for long-term observations of biogeochemical cycling in tropical ecosystems, and up to £1.6 to develop work in the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest as a comparative site.
