CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE PROMOTION OF SCIENTIFIC CULTURE AND INNOVATION
• FECYT manages the Call for proposals for the most important science dissemination projects in Spain.
• 2015 budget: 3,250,000 euros.
• More than 200 projects funded every year, from science fairs to documentaries for television and apps for mobile devices.
• Three lines of action: scientific culture and innovation; creativity and scientific vocations; and science and innovation communication networks.

• International scientific monologues competition.
• Goal: to promote science outreach by identifying, training and publicising new spokespersons who work in science.

SCIENCE DISSEMINATION ON TELEVISION

• 4,340,049 visits in 2014.• “Casa de las Ciencias” Prismas Award for
the best scientific outreach website and the Concha García Campoy Award for journalism.
• Órbita Laika : Scientific dissemination show on TVE2.
• News reports on companies and innovation for the TVE2 programme Fábrica de ideas.
• News reports on researchers who comment on a painting in El Prado for the TVE2 programme Aventura del Saber.

• Objective: to increase the scientific interest of students in the 4th year of compulsory secondary education and the 1st year of the high school diploma.
• There are 1,920 places for participating in scientific projects designed by university professors and developed in research departments of 16 International and Regional Campuses of Excellence.

SCIENTIX• Project funded by the European Commission through the 7th Framework Programme and managed
by European Schoolnet (EUN).• FECYT acts as a national contact point for Scientix, the community for the teaching of science in
Europe.

FECYT manages MUNCYT on behalf of the State Department of R&D+I.
It has three offices in Madrid, Alcobendas and Coruña Activities:

Crowdfunding platform Precipita
First public collective funding platform in Spain for scientific projects. Since the launch
of the platform on 9 October 2014 more than 200,000 euros have been raised.
Objective: to bring scientific work closer to society and provide a participation mechanism.

Objectives

•Carrying out of activities that support a career in research in the framework of EURAXESS.
