I hope you and your family had a blessed Thanksgiving and I pray that you will also have a joyful and prayerful Christmas. We have 2 events coming up in December where we can come together to share the joy of the season. On Friday, December 13 we will be having our annual member and guest Christmas Par-ty at the Oratory and on Saturday, December 28, Knights and their families will attend the 5:30 Mass at St. Anne and go to dinner afterwards. I encourage everyone to attend these affairs. Details about the events can be found in this newsletter.
The council will be making ornaments for the children attending Christmas Masses again this year. This has become a tradition that all look forward to. Brother Jason Williamson is heading the committee that will make the ornaments and you will be receiving details about making the ornaments at our December meeting on December 8. Congratulations to Mike Blest who was selected as Knight of the month for November for his dedication to the Knights and his support of the Dorothy Day soup Kitchen. Also, Con-gratulations to Joe Kraft and his family for their support of the Knights and especially for making our entry into the Trunk or Treat event at St. Anne. Our Council sent a Mass card to the family of John Gimpel who went to see the Lord this past month. May John rest in peace.

OTHER NEWS
Knight’s Prayer
Our Lady, Queen of the Knights, bless all the activities of our Order. Keep us true to our pledge, to extend the kingship of thy divine son on earth. Through Thine intercession, win for us the grace, ever to exemplify in our public and private lives, the virtues that should charac-terize those especially dedicated to the service of the heavenly court. Make us always aware that as your Knights, we are constantly observed, our faith judged, and our Order appreciated. Accept, O Mary, this renewed pledge of fealty and devotion, of Thy Servants, the Knights of Columbus.
Attraction Books on Sale
Pictured are the workers and stand manag-er at a recent football game. As you can see everyone is enjoying their time at the Knight’s stand. Bob Martin is again coor-dinating our stand responsibilities at the events at Bank of America stadium in Charlotte. We earn a significant amount of our income through this effort so it is im-portant that we volunteer for these games. We sell hotdogs, popcorn, beer and sodas at each event. We need 7-8 volunteers for each game which is quite a challenging effort at times. The dates and times for the entire year have been posted on our web-site calendar. Please contact Bob at [email protected] to offer your help.
The Attraction books that we sell is the primary method that are able to
support the Hope foundation program. The cost is only $20 and there are hundreds of dollars worth of coupons
in each book. Mark Eddie is coordi-nating the sale of these books and he has them at our functions and they are
available in the St. Anne parish office. They make great gifts and are good through 2020.
Corporate Communion
Members of our council along with their families are encour-
aged to attend our next Corpo-rate Communion Mass scheduled for 5:30 on December 28. This
is a time we pray together as an organization to show our com-mitment to our faith, family and
organization. The Knights pro-vide all of the ministries at this Mass so please sign-up for one
of the ministries on the sheet by the sacristy door or contact Bill Rife at 808-504-6826. We will
also be going to the L & S Res-taurant after Mass which is at Riverview and Cherry Rd next to the Quality Inn where we can
share a meal together.

Traffic Control Assistance
As was mentioned in a recent email, we have been asked to help with traffic control on Sundays when there are Faith For-mation classes and on days when school is in session. The con-trol of traffic is important to insure the safety of the children. The Sunday times are from 10:00AM for about 20 minutes when students arrive and at 11:45 for about 20 minutes when stu-dents are dismissed. 2 traffic controllers are needed. Marty Blair is the coordinator. The school day times are from 2:00PM - about 3:00PM during school dismissal on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 1:00PM - about 2:00PM on Wednesday. The coordinator is An-gel Juarez. Part of our commitment as Knights is to support our parish and this is an excellent way to demonstrate our dedication. I am hoping that we can get enough volunteers so that we can per-form these tasks periodically rather than each day or week. If you are willing to volunteer, please call Ray Howard at 803-325-1086.
Sick & Benevolence Committee
State Raffle Tickets
The Knights State raffle tickets are now available. A donation of $5 per ticket is requested and the top prize is $5,000. The drawing will take place on February 1 at the State Charity Ball. The proceeds are used to support over 80 charities including contribu-tions to St. Anne in the past. Each member is asked to make a donation for 2 tickets to reach our goal which will also allow our council to receive an award. Tickets are available from any officer and at all of our events.
Drew Bevis has again stated that he is leaving the area and thanked everyone for their support. Drew was
chairman of our Council’s Sick and Benevolence com-mittee. Let me know if you are interested chairing the committee.
