MANERGY is a transnational initiative financed by the European Programme for Territorial Cooperation “Central Europe 2007 – 2013”. It aims at favoring responsible use and protection of the environmental potentials of Central Europe by promoting innovative and sustainable approaches to environment friendly energy source management, including an increase in renewable energy use as well as significant reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

The Green Schools Living Lab of the Province of Treviso represents one of the answers to the questions raised by
signing up to the Covenant of Mayors. It also represents the present stage of a facility management evolution
process. The process started with a contractual tool for optimization of facility management operations in school
buildings, and went on through the involvement of users in facility management activities. The current third step
concerns the transformation of school buildings through a combination of Technological Innovation and Social
Innovation, to make schools more efficient and sustainable through a combination of innovative technologies,
and active participation of citizens/users.

+ Principali caratteristiche di un contratto EPC
• Knowledge of energy consumption in the previous years, as a reference element for the future energy performance (Baseline)
• A minimum expected performance has been calculated through an algorithm based on the building/plant system characteristics and on the foreseen contract duration (“crossbar height” – in the specific case, reduction by 5%)
• A basic contractual fee has been determined (roughly of the same amount previously paid). A further bid price reduction has been made after awarding through public competition.
