We are so excited for the upcoming

Spring league. I know our son Braden

can't wait for what he calls HappyFeet

on the field! It's a great time for the

kids to show off the skills they have

learned in our classes, and a great way

to bring in friends from the

neighborhood and school to

experience HappyFeet. We hope you

will take full advantage of this

program and invite your friends to do

the same. We will accept registrations

on the field, but to guarantee a spot be

sure to register online! Our school

program continues to grow very

quickly; we have added well over 100

kids this past year. We are excited to

bring the leagues to our program this

spring and have some big plans for the

summer and fall including bringing

our Legends program in for kids age

Thanks to everyone who has

participated in our spring leagues so

far. They have been an absolute blast! I

got the chance to coach our youngest

group in South Charlotte recently and

could not have had more

fun. Personally it has been a lot of fun

to see how far so many of our kids

have come in the past year including

my own son and his friends. It’s so fun

to see kids trying moves including

scissors, pullbacks and my favorite to

watch the Maradona. The development

goes beyond just the moves and skills

that they learn. I have seen kids who

are more coordinated, confident and

becoming leaders on a daily basis. The

non-competitive nature of our classes

and leagues allows for kids to developappropriately and focus on building

skills that will help themtremendously

as they continue to grow. We areexcited aboutthe growth of our

programs including the leagues and

school programs.

Happy Feet Welcome to this month’s newsletter

HappyFeet Charlotte is excited to announce our new director, Brooke Stewart. Coach Brooke is a Charlotte native and lifelong soccer player. She started her soccer career at Charlotte Soccer Club, attended Charlotte Catholic High School, and then moved on to play collegiately at North Carolina State University.

Before joining HappyFeet, Coach Brooke spent five years as a professional educator with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, certified for K-6. She also brings more than five years of coaching experience to HappyFeet Charlotte. Coach Brooke is excited to begin this new adventure working with HappyFeet. Her teaching and coaching background allows her to use her knowledge, skills, and dedication for the game to enhance our program.

As our new director, she will work closely with developing our coaches, continuing relationships with school directors, and adding new schools to our HappyFeet Family.

Fall League Registration

Welcome Director Brooke!

Registration for our Fall League is underway! We are looking to add multiple teams to all of our leagues this spring. This is a great way for your little one to show off the skills and confidence they've been developing in our school program. The League is a 10-week program on Saturday morning starting September 7th and continues until November 2nd. We offer the following leagues:

• HappyFeet Classes (2 year olds)

• Little Toes (2.5-3.5 year olds)

• Big Toes (3.5-5 year olds)

Special Welcome to all Schools and Families! We are so glad to

have everyone back for the fall and look forward to the upcoming

year. We are excited to start the leagues September 7th and would

love to have all the Happy Feet Families there.

What’s Happening This Month

Soccer All Over the World

Song of the Month If You’re Happy and You Know It

Round 1: If you’re happy and you know it RUN AROUND. Round 2: If you’re happy and you know it TAP BOB. Round 3: If you’re happy and you know it DO TICK TOCKS. Round 4: If you’re happy and you know it JUMP OVER BOB. Round 5: If you’re happy and you know it ROCK BOB.

Game of the Month Super Hero Mission

This month’s theme is Super Heroes. Each child will take Bob on a secret mission and will use their super power soccer moves to save the day. The best way to steal Bob back from the bad guys is to use a Super Hero Pullback!

This month’s theme will be Super Heroes and the kids will focus on tick tocks, ball touches and step overs.

Happy Feet Fall Leagues will start September 7th at 9:30am! We will have two locations: Waymer Fields in Huntersville and Antioch Elementary in Matthews. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

What do soccer coaches do during the summer? Well, they travel the world to play soccer of course! Happy Feet coaches, Coach Derek and Coach Margie, traveled to Haiti for a week to work with Bless Back Worldwide and Mission of Hope International and were able to run two soccer camps for over 150 local kids!

The Happy Feet Coaches also had the opportunity to tour villages throughout the area- meeting people, building relationships and passing out soccer balls, shirts, food and other goodies. It was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. The team has already started planning the 2014 trip! Happy Feet is so blessed to have such awesome coaches!



September is such an exciting time for back to school nights and starting new classes. So far we have had a great turn out at all the parent nights we have been too! Special thank you to all the school directors who have helped plan those special events!

As we add schools to our schedule, we constantly need more coaches to help us as we continue to grow. If you or someone you know would like to become a Happy Feet Coach, please contact me at 704-975-7030.

Also, I would like to announce that Happy Feet is supporting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Saturday, November 2 at Romare Bearden park for a charity event, Light the Night. This is a very special event and we would love to have kids, school directors, parents and teachers involved at the event as well as helping us to raise money for a great cause. Please look out for more information via email and at the schools as the date approaches.

Fall League Fun!

Brooke’s Blog

Our Happy Feet League began this month at our two locations in

Huntersville and Matthews. Each location has two age appropriate

leagues: Big Toes and Little Toes. This month the Big Toes are

working on pullbacks, around the worlds and tick-tocks while

playing 4v4 games. The Little Toes are learning toe taps, tick tocks

and pullbacks while playing fun, high energy games like hide –and-

seek and sharks and minnows. The leagues are a great way for the

parents to get involved and see what the kids are learning in Happy

Feet classes.

The start of the new school year is our favorite time of year,

especially as we add new families to our program. We would

like to welcome all new parents and children at each school!

Game of the Month Alien Tag

Alien Tag takes the concept of Bob Tag and adds special moves. Each child has a ball at their feet and is trying to kick their ball at other Bobs but when the Coach comes near them the child has to use a pullback and run the other way.

This month’s theme will be Blast Off to Space and the kids will focus on tick tocks, ball touches and around the worlds. As we blast of to space, the kids will have to keep Bob close and use their special moves to keep the aliens from taking their Bob.

Each month, we send home Happy Grams to keep you updated with how your child is doing. The Happy Gram includes the theme, your child’s favorite game and how your child is doing with each move. Please look for the Happy Grams with the daily sheet at the end of the month.



Brooke’s Blog

Pumpkins, leaves and tons of candy, what's not to love about the month of October! HappyFeet coaches really enjoy being creative with the fall season. Coaches have been playing some Halloween themed games and taking Bob on trips to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin.

Thank you for your support in helping us look for more coaches. We are excited to have added Coach Zach Helms to our HappyFeet family. Zach is from Boone, NC where he played varsity soccer and ran track for his high school. He is a student at UNCC, studying psychology and wants to become an occupational therapist. Zach brings a lot of energy to his coaching and does a great job with the children! Light the Night Walk

Help Happy Feet Charlotte raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by joining us at Light the Night Walk November 2nd. The walk will take place at Romare Bearden Park in Downtown Charlotte and will include family fun activities throughout the evening.

Our goal is to involve all Happy Feet Families, Schools, Directors, Teachers and children in a great cause to stop Cancer!

Game of the Month Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek is one of Bob’s favorite games! Bobs are scattered all over the room and the kids have to find them and use a pullback to bring them back home.

This month’s theme will be Fall Fun and Halloween. The kids will focus on tick tocks, pullbacks and scissors. The kids will take Bob to get his Halloween costume and then take him Trick or Treating, using ball moves to get Bob imaginary candy.

HappyFeet is constantly working to keep up with technology as we look for new ideas to share, communicate, and promote our program. We are starting to use QR codes (barcodes) for flyers, stickers, and more. Here's how it works... First, download a scanning APP to your smartphone if you don't already have one (RedLaser, Shop Savvy, Barcode Scanner, Bakodo, iScan). Next, open the APP and hold it over the barcode to scan. The website or text will pop up on your smartphone for you to check out!
