BIO-ECONOMY
d’innovazione in quanto ricorrono a
una vasta gamma di discipline
scientifiche, tecnologie industriali e
abilitanti e a conoscenze tacite e
locali.
The bioeconomy…
…those parts of the economy that use renewable biological resources from LAND and SEA
… to produce FOOD, BIO-BASED PRODUCTS, MATERIALS and ENERGY.
This presentation shall neither be binding nor construedas constituting commitment by the European Commission
Europe must hurry to act facing inter-related challenges:
1. Food security
2. Energy security
3. Climate change
4. Re-industrialisation of Europe and modernisation of agriculture
5. Reducing dependenceon fossil resources
This presentation shall neither be binding nor construedas constituting commitment by the European Commission
Bioeconomy: settori
- AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY: securing viable food production, sustainable
management of natural resources and climate action. balanced territorial
development of the EU’s rural areas and their communities.
- AGRI-FOOD SECTOR FOR A SAFE AND HEALTHY DIET: whole food chain and
related services from primary production to consumption:food and feed security and
safety, the competitiveness of the European agri-food industry and the sustainability
of food production, processing and consumption.
- AQUATIC LIVING RESOURCES AND MARINE RESEARCH: sustainably managing
and exploiting aquatic living resources, maximise benefits from Europe's oceans, seas
and inland waters, sustainable contribution of fisheries and aquaculture to food
security.
- BIO-BASED INDUSTRIES: transformation of conventional industrial processes and
products into environmentally friendly bio-based ones
- BIOTECHNOLOGY: develop competitive, sustainable, safe and innovative industrial
products and processes and to contribute as an innovation driver in a number of
European sectors, like agriculture, forestry, food, …

OBIETTIVO DEL WP
• The overall objective of this Work Programme is to help set
Europe on a solid basis to sustain food security, the natural resource base and sustainable growth path, adapting and innovating to find resilient and efficient alternatives to our fossil-based economy. It will test, demonstrate and transfer
effective solutions to major challenges affecting the
Bioeconomy on land and sea, across the agri-food chain
from soil to society. European research and innovation will
unlock the potentials of available bio-resources in the
different bioeconomy and blue-economy sectors in a
sustainable and socially responsible way.
28
OBIETTIVI SPECIFICI

industrie
Dimostrare il potenziale di mari e oceani
promuovere l'innovazione nelle zone rurali e costiere, attraverso
nuovi approcci per lo sviluppo dei territori

Caratteristiche trasversali del WP

• Public-Public Partnerships by seeking synergies, leverage,
rationalisation and alignment on streamlined research priorities with
Member States Widen participation, synergies with regional
research and innovation programmes
• Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) underpins this work
programme, aiming to align research and innovation to the values,
needs and expectations of society.
• Gender dimension of research: Research and innovation activities
should explore, analyse, and address possible sex and gender
differences and take into account biological characteristics as well as
the evolving social and cultural features of women and men
• Social Sciences and Humanities• interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary approaches• Open research data
The multi-actor approach under WP2016-2017:
Key elements
Description now in WP introduction p. 9-10
Multi-actor projects are about interactive innovation
Beyond dissemination requirement and stakeholders' board
Genuine and sufficient involvement of various actors all along the
project, from planning to demonstration
Demonstrate how project will respond to end-users needs
Substantial practical knowledge easily accessible and
understandable
Contribution to EIP-AGRI (for EIP-AGRI related areas)
Practice abstracts respecting the common EIP format
Strong recommendation to connect with operational groups
