Concrete to Crops
High above the streets of the historic borough of Brooklyn are three of the world’s largest ‘sky farms’.Over 6 days, as part of an intimate tour group of 10, you’ll explore how these inspiring commercial enterprises are turning concrete into crops.
Veggies in the Sky
You’ll be amazed to see how some farms cover more than 2 ½ acres of a building’s rooftop.You’ll learn about their engineering and construction.
Chooks on the Roof
As well as growing acres of fruit and vegetables, these roof top farms have chook houses and bee hives producing fresh eggs and honey for local residents. You’ll get a chance to get your hands dirty, collect some eggs or help filter some honey.
Jaw-dropping vistas
The breath-taking views of the Manhattan skyline from the rooftop farms will blow you away.The farms are literally just across the river from New York’s iconic skyscrapers such as the Chrysler building and the Empire State Building.

On our last day we’ll explore the extraordinary diversity of produce atThe Union Square Greenmarket in Union Square…..

from hotel to Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm, Greenpoint, Brooklyn
• 2 hour tour, planting/bee-keeping workshop.
• Coach transfer to Reynard restaurant at Wythe Hotel

DAY 3 Wednesday May 28th 2014

• 2 hour tour and workshop – seed planting, harvesting
• Coach transfer to Marlow and Sons restaurant, Brooklyn
