Programme report of Outreach Leryar : Leap Of Iman “STRENGTHEN FAITH AMONG
PEOPLE.”
All praise due to Allah SWT, on 14th until 17th March 2019, JASA club had organized an outreach
programme at Kampung Orang Asli Leryar, Cameron Highlands, Pahang namely Outreach Leryar :
Leap Of Iman with the theme of “STRENGTHEN FAITH AMONG PEOPLE”. This programme were
participated by 40 students from JASA Club of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)
sponsored by Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera and Majlis Ugama Islam Pahang (MUIP).
The aim of this program is to expose the students with the aboriginal community while enhance their
inner skill to develop a good Muslim or Dai’e that can communicate well with the society.. Generally,
this programme was organized to achieve the objectives below:
To get close with ALLAH s.w.t in order to get blessings and reward from Him.
To practices the Islamic teachings to Orang Asli.
To strengthen the relationship between Orang Asli and all members of JASA IIUM.
To introduce the lifestyle of Orang Asli to the new members of JASA IIUM.
To give motivation and effective learning to the Orang Asli.
To flourish IIUM name as a university that well-verse with community service.
To highlight the benefit of community services for the society especially students so that they can
enhance their skills.
To help the villagers’ goal in establishing the village as one of the tourist spots.

FULL REPORT OF THE ACTIVITIES (DAY-BY-DAY REPORT)
11TH MARCH 2019 (MONDAY)
1. MODULE SESSION
Induction session started with module session by Module bureau . In this session , they played “Cikucak”
game . Before the game started , each commitees have to remember everyone’s name or they will lose. The
session was held to make sure commitees know each other’s name and create bonding between commitees
before simulation of ziarah started.
2. DISCIPLINE & IBADAH SESSION
Next, our induction proceed with D&I Session where representative from D&I bureau explained the
guidelines and modules during ziarah. The committees were divided into two groups to start the simulation
of ziarah. This session was very important especially for the new committees.
3. SHARING MOMENTS FROM PRESIDENT
Before they have their final touch up , they have sharing moments and amanat from President JASA Club.
Since most of the committees never been to Leryar, our President gave them a view of Leryar for their early
physical and mental preparation. In addition, in this session our President also include the rules and
regulations that need to be followed by all of the committees such as perform congregational prayers, cover
aurah properly especially for sisters and try our best in delivering da'wah to the villagers.
12TH MARCH 2019 (TUESDAY)
Sharing Islamic Knowledge Among People (SIKAP 2.0)
In collaboration with Introspection Team of Jalinan Masyarakat Bersama Orang Asli (JASA), we organize an
event which is SIKAP 2.0 with the theme ‘Jom Masuk Kampung” which focus on the solution for the situation
they would face when enter aborigine village. This is a platform to provide the proper ways and steps on how
to interact and communicate properly with the aborigine community especially in KOA Leryar. This event is
alsoconducted to strengthen the bond of the club members. The activity conducted during the event was we
separate the participant into several groups and give them a situation that might happen when we deliver
Dakwah to aborigine community. The participants need to answer how they deal with that situation by doing
stimulation among them. Besides that, we also did a simple sharing session between the members who have
experience going outreach and the members who first time going to aborigine village.
14THMARCH2019 (THURSDAY)
At 10pm , the commitess already have started to gather at the main staircase for preparation . While
waiting for the bus all bureaus need to label their stuff and put at the right places to avoid chaos. On the other
hand, some of other bureaus took this opportunity to complete their jobscope before depart to KOA Leryar .
When the bus arrived , all commitess worked together loaded the bags and programme things into the bus .
Around 12am , everything settled smoothly and the journey of commitess to KOA Leryar began .
15TH MARCH 2019 (FRIDAY)
Participants from IIUM arrived at Kampung Orang Asli Leryar around 4.00 am. As soon as the committees
reached the destination , all committees unloaded all the stuffs from the bus and arranged the accommodation
infront of the kindergarten . After finished unloaded all the things , commitees were allowed to get a rest for
awhile before Subuh prayer .
At 7 am , after they had Subuh prayer , mathurat and tazkirah , they continued their day with warming up
session .
1. WARMING UP SESSION
Warming up session only involved committees, where at the morning session they did ‘senamrobics’
which handled by sport bureau. They prepared few songs and simple ‘senamrobic’ steps for the session
and it was a great session. This activity’s objective was to promote healthy life style. In addition, the
warming up session was conducted in order to strengthen the bonding among committees.
2. SET UP & PREPARATION
After they finished boosting up their energy , they are ready to serve humanity. Preparation and setting up
places was crucially important as to ensure the cleanliness and to provide a safer place for the committees to
stay in KOA Leryar for 3 days. Committees were divided into 4 groups. One group cater with digging up hole
and arrange catering things at the cooking area. Group 2 were responsible in cleaning up the sister’s residence
, which located at the kindergarten. However , they can’t enter the kindergarten area as that time the
kindergarten used by the children . So group 2 were incharged to help catering settled down the catering
station. Group 3 was assigned to fix and clean up surau, place that used for most activities and also brother’s
shelter . Group 4 were given a task to help Special Task bureau divide ration stuff to each house. In the
meantime, Research and Documentation bureau with the help of Group 5 had go around the village to tag the
houses and draw the map of the village. They finished their tagging task at around 10:30 am.
4. ZIARAH 1
All committees were divided into 12 groups of ‘foster children’ whereas each group were assigned with
5-7 houses and maps of foster family’s houses were given to each group in order to find their foster family’s
house easily. The main objective of this first Ziarah was to introduce foster children (committees) to their
foster family (Orang Asli) and knowing each other session so that there will be no awkwardness between
them during next ziarah. DNI team gave brief explanation to each group of foster family before they started
their ziarah. This is very important to measure the level of the villagers' understanding about syahadah, al-
fatihah and the integrals of prayer. From this pre evaluation part it will ease the committees for the next ziarah.
5. DAKWAH AND IBADAH SESSION
On the first day , Friday 15th march 2019 , they have two slots of DnI . One slot was in the
evening , after Zuhur prayer and another slot at night , after maghrib and isyak prayer . For the first
slot , DnI Bereau started with taaruf session with amek-amek. After that , the committees moved on
with explaining briefly about the theory of solat jenazah . It is actually more to share to them
because most of them already know about it . They also explain how to handle jenazah in the right
ways . Besides , they also shared with amek-amek the about fiqh wanita and recited some zikir
together. After maghrib prayer , the committees teached amek and apak recite Iqra’and after Isyak
prayer , they proceed with teaching rukun qauli in prayer . The villagers that came to surau is not
only the amek and apak , they also bring their daughters and grandchildrens along to learn about
Islam .
6. MODULE SESSION – MINI EXPLORACE
At the same time, Module Bureau deal with the chidren at the centre . Module bereau made a mini
explorace for the children . All the checkpoint prepared various type of challenging activities that tested their
education and creativity level . Praise to Allah, the mini explorace run quite smoothly and by the time 4.30
pm , the session finished .
7. SPORT SESSION
Sport session is one of the activities that conducted at the evening. The Sport Session involving all the
villagers which were amek, apak and childrens. The Sport Bureau provided the vilagers with different
interesting games. For amek , they played mini sukaneka and ‘musical slipper’ . Same for the childrens , they
also have their own mini sukaneka and for apak they played football as they seems really like to play football.
16TH MARCH 2019 (SATURDAY)
1. ZIARAH 2
During this session, the participants and their foster family had more time to do activities together. The
activities were cooking together and at the sometime shared with them about sertu and fasting. DnI bureau
also provides pamphlet for each house as guidance for them . On that day, the committees were provided
with ‘bihun’ to cook ‘bihun goreng’ with their foster family. The committees also brought some foods their
foster family. This activity can strengthen their relationship to know each other better.
2. MODULE SESSION – MASS EXPLORACE
On the second day of module, eventough the whether was quite hot, the children that participated increased
than the day before . The checkpoints were placed all over the kampung. What made them more excited ,
from each checkpoint , if they managed to complete the task , they got one component of rocket . Meaning ,
to get the full component of rocket , they need to complete all the checkpoint within the time given . After the
explorace finished , the rocket launching session continued after Asar prayer . All the children really happy
and enjoyed the slot .
3. HELWANI
This activity conducted specially for amek in KOA Leryar handled by D&I bureau. During the activity,
amek were taught on how to make popiah goreng by which the ingredients were already prepared. They
showed their interest in this activity as they expert with it and after they finished the activity, they were
allowed to bring back their outcomes. At the same time, D&I bureau also explained about basic steps of sertu
and why we need to do sertu .
4. SPORTS DAY
The activity involved children, amek and also apak. The game for the children handled by module bureau
while the games for amek and apak in charged by Sport bureau. However , most of the participants not from
amek-amek but teens . Seems like amek-amek at this village does not intrested to play outside in the evening
. Sport bureau prepared netball game for amek , they were divided into 3 groups and 1 group from committes
. For apak , they played football . Presents were prepared for the winners.
5. REWANG
The rest of the bureaus prepared for the second kenduri which lead by Catering bureau. The rewang started
on 04:30pm. The menu for this kenduri are Nasi Gaul , Acar Sayur and Lemon Blue Ice Tea. The rewang end
at 07:00pm.
6. KENDURI
The Kenduri started after Isya’ prayer, and the committees were distributing foods to the villagers. The
children prepared a traditional perfomance for the villagers and committees . The villagers also were
entertained with movies and video of Outreach Leryar : Leap Of Iman “Strengthen Faith Among People.”
which prepared by media bureau. We also did prizes giving ceremony which handled by Special Task and
Sport bureaus. The Kenduri ended on 11:30 pm.
17TH MARCH 2019 (SUNDAY)
1. ZIARAH WIDA’
This was the last Ziarah to the foster parents’ house before they went back. The committees gave some
food supplies and also some clothes donations to the villagers. They also invited the villagers to come to the
closing ceremony. The time provided for the committees were about two hours and thirty minutes which was
enough for committees to say the last words before leaving their foster family. For Discipline and Ibadah
bureau they reminded committees to evaluate their foster family for post evaluation based on what has been
taught during the previous ziarah. The commitees also gave their fosters’ family a frame photo of they together
as sweet memories .
2. CLOSING CEREMONY
The closing ceremony started at 11:30am. Many foster families came to farewell with their adopted
children for the last time before the end of the programme. VIPs that attended the ceremony were our JASA
club’s advisor Dr. Ismail Mamat and also Programme Manager, Brother Naqiuddin, all the invited VIPs had
given some speech followed with souvenirs giving event. Module bureau also did prizes giving for the
children that joined mass explorace. Last but not least, Media bureau had presented the video of the activities
throughout this programme to the villagers and committees itself. After the closing ceremony ended, we had
photography session with the Orang Asli in KOA Leryar as a memory and we hope that the villagers will
never forget us .

about islamic knowlegde of the villagers.
• Lack of communication skills between the committee and
Orang Asli.
Transmedia • Difficult to ensure that every foster family’s is taken.
• Ad-hoc jobscope were not briefed clearly.
• Some committee were not helped in completing the job.

Documentation
• Time allocated for us to reece was not enough, we failed to collect as
much information because the villagers were working and not available.
• Some houses were not detected during reece because their house were
covered by bushes.
• Time allocated were not enough for committee to fill in the information
during ziarah
Special Task • Impromtu work were ordered to Transmedia team and they were not
cleared with the work.
• Committee members were not enough and all of us were late comers due
to midterm and quizzes.
• Time allocated for sorting the donation items were not enough.
Sponsor • A lot of cake were rotten during fundraising.
• Misscommunication in conducting the venue for car wash.
• Major bureau were not giving instructions clearly.

• Projector that we borrowed form Budi was not functioning.
• Our hoe was broken during the program.
Catering • A lot of rice were wasted after kenduri.
• Cup that has been used were not washed by the comiittee.
SUGGESTIONS BY BUREAUS

• All committee need to have common sense and focus on the
instructions.
• Instructions need to be remind regularly in order to make the minor
committee alert with their job.
• They need to inform if they wanted to go elsewhere.
Sport • Just stick to the main plan but improve it according to the surrounding.
• Asked help from other committees to handle the kids or creae some
module to play with them.
• Other than making an announcement, invite the vilagers from their
houses 15 minutes before the session started.
Module • Should prepared earlier and assign person in charge for each slot or
checkpoint.
• Make ensure all items that were needed during programme are bought
• Reece must be on the day where the kids were to be around, for
example, during weekend.
Discipline and
Ibadah
• Remind committee and asked them to read the information before going
to the village.
• Extra time need to be allocated for Discipline and Ibadah team during
induction day to brief about the form.
• Communication skills and training need to be focuses more during
induction with the committee.
Transmedia • Inform committee to take selfie photos of foster’s family in order to
ensure that everyone have their own picture as a photo souvenir.
• An extra work should be briefed earlier in order to avoid
misunderstanding.
• Committee should have common sense when transmedia bureau
wanted to take their pictures.
Research and
Documentation
• Reece must be done at least 2 days in order to get an enough
information from the villagers.
• We have to ask the villagers if there are any new houses in the village.
• One slot for the committee is required in order for them to fill in all the
information for RnD.
Special Task • Jobscope for special tasks bureau and transmedia bureau need to be
clear, so extra work can be prepared before program.
• One of our committee refused to join due to family matter and the
backed up committee was blurred about his role.
• Person in charge should told the committee earlier about the sorting the
donation items.
Sponsor • Avoid keeping the cakes in the hot area and distribute to all committee
as soon as possible.
• Make sure asked the officer in charge about the venue for car wash.
• Program coordinator and respectives bureau need to give instruction
clearly.

• Make sure all bureau assign their representative to check and confirmed
the items needed to be brought for program.
• We have to checked whether the projector is functioning well or not.
• Remind the late comers committee to bring an extra hoe
Catering • The rice was cooked for the next morning and lunch.
• One cup is provided to each committee and they need to wash their own
cup after eating.
FUTURE SUGGESTIONS AS WHOLE
• Make selection of the members in each bureau according to their character and
passion, so they will give a full commitment throughout the whole program.
• We can arrange to have some slot during school day on Friday morning.
• Some work that need to be done by the whole committee program need to be brief
clearly so that any misunderstanding can be avoided.
• Some committee should be assigned to help preparation and technical bureau in order
to avoid less man power.
• We need to focus more on the things that we wanted to teach them.
• Clear guidance needed to be told to each of the committee before going to ziarah.
• Proper details and guidelines should be listed properly and can be understand by all
committee.

CONCLUSION
We are very grateful to Allah SWT for given us the strength to complete this programme sucessfully.
Alhamdulillah, we finally had achieved all the objectives that we targeted before the programme.
Throughout this programme, everything went well even there were some challenges and lacking at
first, but we managed to overcome the problem. This programme had created a beautiful bonding
between villagers of Kampung Orang Asli Leryar and JASA’s committee members. Besides that, a
big gratitudes to our remarkable sponsors and to all people who had involved in making this
programme successful. At the same time, we really hope that we can improve more on our
management skills in the next programme In sha Allah. We also hope that we could get another
chances in serving, helping, and sharing some Islamic and education knowledge to the aboriginal
community. Lastly, we still wanted to guide and spread more dakwah towards the community and In
sha Allah, this programme will be benefit to the society for the betterment of the ummah.
