The Mass for Sacred Heart will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1pm at Sacred Heart Church. The Mass for Monseigneur Caron will be celebrated at the School at 1:15pm. The Mass for St. Joseph will be celebrated at 1:15pm at St. Joseph Church. PARISHIONERS ARE MOST WELCOMED.
Family of Parishes News Update
Migrant Celebration and Dinner: Do you know that each year, roughly 28,000 seasonal agricultural workers come to work in Ontario? Over half of those workers are employed within the Diocese of London. As a way to reach out to the local migrant workers in our area, a group of volunteers from our Family of Parishes is hosting a celebration and dinner this weekend for these workers who have sacrificed so much to provide for their families back home.
Confirmation Registration: Registration for our Confirmation candidates continues next weekend, Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th after each Mass at Sacred Heart Parish and St. Paul Parish in their parish hall.
Thanksgiving Appeal: Donations to assist with parish ministry expenses can still be put
in the basket at any weekend Mass. If you didn’t get last week’s bulletin, additional envelopes are at the main entrance. Thank you for your support!
Extraordinary Mission Month: Today, on World Mission Sunday, we are invited to celebrate our mission’s vocation, to pray for the people who are actively engaged in mission and to generously contribute to our worldwide mission solidarity fund through this collection. Your donations help:
People in remote villages, towns and cities, through the witness and work of missionaries and local priests.
Children, elderly, refugees, the sick or orphans through the services of religious Sisters and Brothers
To bring the Gospel to the poorest of our human family
Catechists proclaim the message of hope an peace that only Christ can give
Please offer your prayers for the work of the Church in the missions today and be as generous as you can on World Mission Sunday.
All Souls Mass: An All Souls Mass
for our Family of Parishes will be celebrated at St. Paul Parish on Tuesday, November 5th at 6:30pm. Parishioners who have family members who have passed away between
November 2018 and October 2019 are specially invited to attend this special Mass honouring their deceased loved ones.
Bishop’s Dinner: This Thursday is the annual Bishop’s dinner at the Ciociaro Club. The office staff will be attending the event thanks to the generous gift of
6 tickets from one of our parishioners.
News from the office: The parish office will be closed Wednesday from 10am – 1pm for staff team training.
St. Paul Appreciation Gathering: This Friday, those volunteers who have responded to the invitation will gather in the parish hall at St. Paul Church at 6pm.
Parish Mission Statement: Our
mission statement is based on the truth of who we are and who we are called to be: “Jesus lives within us. We can
change the world.”
Baptismal Class: There is a Baptism Class for parents on Wed, Oct. 23rd at Sacred Heart at 7pm for parents who have had a home visit. Pre-registration is required.
Reverse Collection: Please participate in
our special collection this month in support of SSVP taking place at all 3 of our parish families. Last month, the St. Alphonus Conference alone made 69 home visits, helping a total of 204 people, almost half of those children. With the cold weather upon us, the need will be even greater. Many families will have to make the difficult choice between buying groceries or paying their heating bills. We can help make a difference. Take a tag or as many as you like on your way out of Mass. Purchase the items and return them when you come back to Mass the next weekend.
Grand merci!
Come & See Discernment Retreat Weekend - St. Peter’s Seminary Nov. 1st - 3rd: Discernment
is, by its very nature, about faith. If we knew all the answers, would there be any need for our faith? God loves us; we can trust Him. The path He’s leading us down,
albeit sometimes unclear, will lead to our fulfillment if we keep trying to stay open to God and His ways. This weekend’s discernment retreat is intended for men 17- 45 years old considering a call to the priesthood. It offers a firsthand experience of the life of a seminarian, spiritual help for discernment and an opportunity to meet current seminarians and faculty. Visit dolpriest.ca for more information.
