Reactor scrammed and unit separated002 790129 F 13.7 A 3 N/A CD VALVEX from the grid because of an APRM high
flux scram. This scram was caused bya pressure spike which resulted fromMSIV A failing closed due to an appar-ent stem-disc separation.
Corrective Action: Returned unit tose vice with 'A' main stean line outor' service. The MSIV's will beinspected and repaired during theupcoming refueling outage.

Brunswick Unit No. 2 operated at 87.7% of full capacity for the nionth of
January uith one forced shutdoun and one major power reduction incurred:
January 27: Power uns decreased to remove condenser water box 2B-N from
s e rvice. The reduction lasted 14.5 hours.
January 29: Unit was separated from the grid for 13.7 hours because of
f1SIV ' A' valve stem-disc separation.
Unit was running at 90% full capacity when on line this conth for fuel
conservation in preparation for our upcoming refueling outage. Availability
factor: 98.2%.
There are 14 IMR fuel assemblics and no BWR fuel assemblics in the Brunswick
Unit 2 spent fuel pool..
