Vessel Description
The ship is designed as a container/cargo vessel. She is a single screw, single decked and double skin in way of the cargo spaces. The vessel can carry 20 ft and 40 ft container units. Total container capacity on deck and in the holds is 249 x 20 ft containers. As well as containers, the vessel is designed to load general cargo.
Main engine is slow speed engine, which gives service speed of 14.5 kn.
Accommodation is provided for 13 persons in the accommodation block aft.

Draughts refer to the underside of keel, or an extension thereof. Trim is defined as: Draught Aft - Draught Fwd Downflooding Points
Downflooding points include all openings, irrespective of size, that would permit passage of water through a water/weathertight bulkhead or deck, e.g. opening windows. Downflooding points exclude openings kept closed to an appropriate standard of water/weathertightness at all times other than when required for access or for operation of portable submersible bilge pumps in an emergency, e.g. non-opening windows of similar strength and weathertight integrity to the structure in which they are installed. There are two possible critical openings on this vessel:

Draft Marks
Draft marks are numbers marked on each side of the bow and stern of the vessel, which indicate the height from the bottom of keel or lowest projection.

Notes on Stability for the Guidance of the Master
The loading conditions shown in this booklet represent typical service conditions. Where a loading condition departs from those shown in this book a separate calculation should be made to ensure compliance with the stability criteria.
Precautions against capsize
Compliance with the stability criteria does not ensure immunity against capsize or absolve the Master from his responsibilities. Masters should therefore exercise prudence and good seamanship having regard to the season of year, experience of the crew, weather forecast and the navigational zone, and should take appropriate action as to the speed, course and sail setting warranted by the prevailing conditions.
Before a voyage commences care should be taken to ensure large items of equipment and stores are properly stowed to minimise the possibility of both longitudinal and transverse shifting under the effect of acceleration caused by pitching and rolling, or in the event of a knockdown to 90 degrees.
All external hull doors and flush hatches are to be closed and secured. The number of slack tanks should be kept to a minimum. Where port and starboard tanks are cross coupled, such connection should be closed at sea to minimise the reduction in stability.
In adverse, weather conditions and where there is the possibility of encountering a severe gust, squall or large breaking wave, all exposed doors, hatches, skylights, vents, etc. should be closed and securely fastened to prevent the ingress of water. Storm boards and shutters etc. should be fitted.
The amount of sail carried is at the discretion of the Master and his decision will have to take into account many factors.

4.0 STABILITY CRITERIA

General Intact Criteria IMO A.749(18)
1. The area under the righting lever curve (GZ curve) should not be less than 0.055 meter-radian up to Θ=30˚ angle of heel and not less than 0.09 meter-radian up to Θ=40˚ or the angle of downflooding Θf if this angle is less than 40˚. Additionally, the area under the righting lever curve (GZ curve) between the angles of heel of 30˚ and 40˚ and between 30˚ and Θf, if this angle is less than 40˚, should not be less than 0.03 meter-radian.
2. The righting lever GZ should be at least 0.2 m at an angle of heel equal to or greater then 30˚. 3. The maximum righting arm should occur at an angle of heel preferably exceeding 30˚, but not
less than 25˚. 4. The initial metacentric height GMo should not be less than 0.15 m.
