ForewordAs part of the reception in celebration of the opening of Parliament in Cape Town in February, the Embassy of Spain is inaugurating an art exhibition, A Weekend Whirl of Visual Art, at the official residence on Thursday, February 20th, 2014. On exhibition will be works in a variety of media, including painting,
sculpture, monoprints and photography, by artists from the Cape. These include established artists Willie Bester, Brendhan Dickerson, Berni Searle, Lionel Davis, Dale Yudelman and Vuyile Voyiya and emerging artists such as Jarret Erasmus, amongst others. While the exhibition is not centred on a particular theme, the main focus is

on showcasing the diversity of talent and creativity in the city and on fostering good relations between South Africa and Spain. The exhibition is open to the public from Friday, February 21st to Sunday 2014, February 23rd, from 11.00 to 16.00. This event was co-ordinated by Jill Trapper and Estelle Jacobs, with assistance from A’isha Dollie and Anthony Cawood.
