Although all fixed automatic systems operate on this simple principle, there is a number of different systems, covered by strict regulations and quality requirements.     Centrala INTAL-EXT, slui za upravljanje bilo kojim sustavom jedne zone gaenja.Signalizacija, upravljanje i programiranje odgovaraju europskim normama EN 12094-1.     The central unit for fire extinguishing, INTAL - EXT, is used to control any fire extinguishing system of one zone of extinguishing. Signals, control and programming are in line with European standards EN 12094-1. With three zones of detection as a standard solution, a manual start key and a block key, the central unit can be adapted to satisfy most requirements for extinguishing activation in small systems. It has a clearly visible front panel with LED indicators, which are user friendly and give all required information about the status to the user.     Poeci seu u drugu po-lovinu 19-tog stoljea, a danas je sprinkler najrai-reniji sustav za automatsko gaenje. Specifi ni i prepo-znatljivi element je sprin-kler mlaznica, koja pored kuita, brtve i raspriva-a sadri staklenu ampulu

    punjenu posebnom tekuinom. Kod poviene temperature, ampula se rasprsne, ime oslobaa brtvu i otvara put vodi za gaenje. Prema tome, ova mlaznica sa ampulom je ujedno i element dojave poara i aktiviranja sustava.Dvije su osnovne vrste sprinkler sustava - mokri i suhi. Kod mokrog sustava je voda pod pritiskom stalno u cjevovodima, to je primjereno grijanim prostorima. Kod suhog sustava, koji se moe koristiti i za podruja sa niskim ili sa veoma visokim temperaturama, u cjevovodima je u pripravnom stanju stlaeni zrak, a voda dolazi nakon aktiviranja sprinkler mlaznice. Cijevnu mreu od izvora vode dijeli mokra ili suha sprinkler ventilska stanica. Ista omoguuje lokalni zvuni alarm putem alarmnog zvona, te prosljeenje poarnog signala putem tlane sklopke. Cijevna mrea u sprinkler instalacijama izvodi se putem utornih Victaulic spojeva i unaprijed pred-fabriciranih cijevnih elemenata.

    Izvori vode za sprinkler sustave kreu se od prikljuka na gradski vodovod do hidroforskih postrojenja, pumpnih stanica sa jednom ili dvije pumpe (elektro i diesel motori), te preljevnih i akumulacijskih bazena.

    Za projektiranje se najee kori-ste smjernice Saveza njemakih osiguravajuih drutava - VdS, te ameriki propisi - NFPA, a za brodske sprinkler instalacije - SOLAS i posebni propisi klasifi -kacijskih drutava.

    The beginnings of the sprinkler system application date back to the second half of the 19th century, and, currently, it is the most wide-spread automatic fi re extinguishing system. The specifi c and well-known element of the sprinkler system is the sprinkler nozzle. The nozzle consists of a housing, a seal, a dispenser disk and a heat sensitive glass bulb. The glass bulb is fi lled with liquid which changes volume during heating and breaks it at a certain temperature, which then releases the seal and water begins to fl ow. In sprinkler systems, the nozzle has two functions- fi re detection and activation of the extinguishing system.There are two types of sprinkler systems - wet and dry. In wet systems, water under pressure is constantly present in the pipes, which is suitable for heated or warm areas. Dry systems, used in cold areas, have compressed air in the pipes. After the nozzle starts the system, pressure in the pipes reduces and activates the pressure switch, which then opens the sprinkler valve (dry or wet) and releases water. The sprinkler valve station starts the fi re alarm bell. All pipes are connected by the Victaulic installation equipment (with slots, enabling easy connection) and prefabricated pipe elements.

    Water supply sources for sprinkler installations range from waterworks connections to pressure vessels, pump stations with one or two pumps (electrically and diesel driven) and accumulation pools. For design and construction, guidelines from the alliance of German insurance companies - VdS, and US - NFPA regulations are used; for marine usage (in ship building)- SOLAS and special regulationsfrom customer specifi ed certifi cation companies.

    DRENCHER SUSTAVI DRENCHER SYSTEMS

    U drencher sustavima me-dij za gaenje moe biti voda i / ili pjena. Namije-njeni su gaenju poara koji se brzo iri, u pro-storijama i vanjskim po-strojenjima. Koriste se na brodovima, te u raznim in-dustrijskim postrojenjima, kao to su rezervoarski prostori, transformatori, skladita zapaljivih materi-jala. Moe se koristiti kao vodena zavjesa ali i kao ureaji za hlaenje.

    Princip rada je sljedei:Drencher sustav sa otvorenim mlaznicama (bez ampule) rasporeen je iznad tienog prostora ili oko tienog objekta. Nain aktiviranja moe biti pneumatski, hidraulini, elektrini. Pneumatski i hidrauliki nain upravljanja koristi se najee u prostorima ugroenim eksplozijom. Za ostale prostore podrazumijeva se elektrino aktiviranje putem vatrodojave. U drencher sustavu se primjenjuju sljedei tipovi mlaznica: otvorene mlaznice, mlaznice za zatitu transformatora, za hlaenje plata i krova rezervoara, mlaznice za vodene zavjese.

    In drencher systems, the medium used for fi re extinguishing can be water or foam. Drencher systems are designed to extinguish fast expanding fi res on outdoor and indoor installations. Very often, they are used on ships and to protect industrial installations such as reservoirs, electrical transformers or storages of highly fl ammable materials. They can be used as a water curtain or as a cooling device.

    Principle of action:The drencher system has open nozzles (without a bulb) installed, spread over the protected area or the protected object. Activation can be pneumatical, hydraulic or by and electric motor. Pneumatic or hydraulic drives are used where an explosion is highly possible. In other instances, electrical activation by the fi re extinguisher control unit is most common. In the system, the following type of nozzles can be used: open nozzles, nozzles for transformer protection, nozzles for watercurtain and cooling down nozzles.

    Najrairenije stabilne instalacije koje omoguuju dovod i raspodjelu poarne vode, te gaenje runim mlaznicama. Sastoje se od izvora vode - najee pumpne stanice, koje mogu biti povezane i sa drugim protupoarnim instalacijama, cjevovoda i hidrantskih ormara. Vanjske hidrantske mree zavravaju nadzemnim hidrantima, a u starijim instalacijama i danas iznimno, takoer i podzemnim hidrantima.

    Samo-isuujui i sa ugraenom zatitom od zamrzavanja, hidranti se mogu ugraivati i u vrlo hladne okoline (do -50C). Takoer je u njih ugraen i sekcijski ventil koji omoguava da prilikom servisa hidrant skinemo bez da prekidamo glavni dovod vode (integrirani sekcijski ventil automatski zatvara, poput servisnog ventila, im se hidrantski nastavak ukloni, bez da voda otie iz glavnog dovoda). Sekcijski ventil takoer zatvara dovod i u sluaju iznenadne havarije ili oteenja hidrantskog nastavka.     The most common fi xed fi re protection installations are fi re hydrants. They enable continuous water supply for fi re extinguishing with portable nozzles. They consist of a water source - usually a pump station, which can also be connected with other fi re protection systems, pipelines and hydrant cabinets. The outdoor hydrant network can fi nish in an above-ground fi re hydrant or, exceptionally, in an underground variation.

    As self-draining and freeze-proof execution, hydrants are suitable for installation in very cold areas (up to -50C). Hydrants are provided with an incorporated sectioning valve which allows the dismounting of the hydrant for maintenance or service operations without a need for interrupting the main water supply line (the incorporated sectioning valve automatically closes like a check valve when the hydrant rod is removed avoiding the water fl owing out from the main water supply line). This is also true if the hydrant breaks due to an external impact. To increase the performance of hydrants, fi re hydrants can be supplied with an additional outlet with an elbow and a manually operated water monitor, which allows reaching of a very long range of jet without using the fi re hoses and water branch pipes.

    Pjena, kao efikasno sredstvo za gaenje prvenstveno kemikalija i naftnih derivata, nastaje mijeanjem vode, pjenila (najei omjer mijeanja u rasponu od 3% do 6%) i zraka. Ovisno o faktoru opjenjenja moe biti teka, srednje teka i laka pjena. Najzastupljenije su instalacije sa tekom pjenom. Koliina vode, te vrsta pjenila odreuju se prema vrsti tienog objekta i zapaljive tekuine. Za mijeanje vode i pjenila u tono odreenom omjeru koriste se posebni dozatori, a za stvaranje i izlijevanje pjene - komore, mlaznice i topovi (monitori, bacai).

    Fire fighting foam is a very efficient extinguishing medium for chemicals and petroleum products. It is a mixture of water and the foam concentrate (usual ratio is from 3% to 6%) and air. Depending on this ratio and type of foam used, high or low expansion foams are generated. Each of them has a different mixture of water and foam and it depends on the type of the protected object and flammable liquid. Mixtures of water and the foam concentrate, in a defined ratio, is made in the proportioner. Final expansion of foam happens in foam chambers, nozzles or foam monitors.

    Fire fighting foam is mainly used in oil drilling platforms, reservoirs, flammable fluid storages, discharging areas, airports and airplane hangars. Very often, usage is on decks of tankers, where the setup is done with a high jet range and high capacity monitors. Foam and monitor materials need to be adapted to sea water.

    FOAM CHAMBERS

    Komore za pjenu se koriste za gaenje pjenom u rezervoarima kojima je namjena skladitenje zapaljivih tekuina. Prilagoene su za upotrebu na rezervoarima sa vrstim ili plivajuim krovom, te za gaenje u izljevnim bazenima. Komora za pjenu je ureaj u kojem se mjeavina voda & pjenilo mijea sa zrakom pri emu ekspandira stvarajui zranu pjenu niske ekspanzije. Izlaz iz komore je tako konstruiran da pjena izlazi prema stjenkama rezervoara i slijeva se dolje prema povrini tekuine. Na ovaj nain se postie kvalitetan sloj pjene na povrini tekuine i efi kasnije gaenje. Komora ima ugraenu lomljivu staklenu membranu, kako bi spremnik u normalnom radu bio izoliran i kako isparavanja iz spremnika ne bi ulazila u sustav cjevovoda pjene. Kod aktiviranja staklena membrana puca pod pritiskom mjeavine vode i pjenila.

    Foam chambers are used for fi re extinguishing with low expansion foam on fl ammable liquids tanks. These are adjusted for use on tanks with fi xed or fl oating roofs and for tank bund areas. The foam chamber is the device that mixes water & the foam concentrate with air and produces low expansion foam. The construction of the exit of the chamber enables mild pouring of the air foam onto the burning liquid. This method allows the liquid surface to be covered with a uniform foam layer, which enables more effi cient fi re extinguishing. To prevent the vapours of the fl ammable liquid to come through the chamber out of the tank, a bursting glass membrane is installed in the chamber. The membrane bursts under the pressure of the water & foam mixture when the system is activated.

    Princip rada helidek sustava:Sustav je dizajniran na nain da postoji centralna jedinica koja sadri tank AFFF pjene (tip pjene koja formira vodeni film) i usisni mjea za pjenu. Centralna jedinica je spojena na cjevovod morske vode koji se protee oko helideka. Kada se aktivira protok vode, mjea e stvoriti vakuum koji e usisati pjenilo u adekvatnom omjeru da stvori traenu mjeavinu od 1% ili 3%. Na krajevima cijevne mree helideka nalaze se takozvane pop up mlaznice koje pod tlakom mjeavine pjene izlaze iz cjevovoda i raspruju mjeavinu u promjeru od sedam metara po mlaznici.Sustav se aktivira pomou ventila koji se ukljuuje radom poarnih pumpi.
