The Mineral Chrom series, which features fully vitrified porcelain stoneware, was created inCasalgrande Padana's laboratories in an on-going endeavor to propose pertinent and significantmaterials for our century; materials that can be used to embellish contemporary settings in bothpublic and private spheres, with absolute respect for the environment. These tiles, stronglycharacterized by a variety of chromatic tones with three-dimensional structured effects none of which,as in nature, are ever the same as the others, are the result of a combination amongst advancedproduction processes, craftsman's care and a knowing choice of raw materials. Similarly toCasalgrande Padana's entire porcelain stoneware range, Mineral Chrom is a material that withstandsbending, wear, abrasion, chemical aggression and thermal shock. It can therefore be used bothindoors and outdoors, on floors and walls.

Posa in operaLa riuscita di un pavimento è dovuta non solo alla qualitàdelle piastrelle, ma a tutto un insieme di elementi(sottofondo, strato legante, giunti di dilatazione, ecc.) checostituiscono un vero e proprio sistema. Ecco perché leoperazioni di posa sono da considerarsi importanti tantoquanto la scelta delle piastrelle. È comunque compito delprogettista stabilire, in funzione della struttura e delladestinazione d'uso del piano di calpestio, il corretto modo diapplicazione delle piastrelle e il tipo di piastrella dautilizzare.GRANITOGRES, PIETRE NATIVE e GRANITOKER non sidifferenziano, per quanto riguarda le operazioni di posa, dauna qualsiasi altra ceramica e si può quindi seguire sia ilsistema tradizionale con malta cementizia, che quello concollanti o adesivi.Prima di iniziare le operazioni di posa di una qualsiasisuperficie si raccomanda di accertarsi che la partita di grèssia adeguata e sufficiente per quantità, tono e calibro, aquella necessaria. Si dovranno poi seguire tutte le norme ele precauzioni che sono alla base di una corretta esecuzionedel lavoro (preparazione del sottofondo, composizione dellamalta o dei collanti, tempi di maturazione, posizionamentodei giunti di dilatazione, battitura, ecc.). Se per ambienti digrandi dimensioni è assolutamente necessario posizionare igiunti con regolarità, per piccoli ambienti è sufficientelasciare un leggero stacco fra piastrellato e muri perimetrali.Sarà poi il battiscopa a coprire lo stacco dando un aspettodi finitura. Evitare il transito sul pavimento per almeno 2/3giorni dopo la posa. In caso di necessità di transito si dovràpredisporre un tavolato appoggiato sul pavimento. Tenerepresente che, nel caso di posa col sistema tradizionale e inmancanza di particolari additivi nella malta, è necessarioattendere anche un mese prima di sottoporre il pavimento asollecitazioni e carichi di esercizio. GRANITOGRES, PIETRENATIVE e GRANITOKER, pur essendo materiali moltoresistenti, possono essere facilmente sagomati o perforatiper l'installazione di impianti tecnico-sanitari.

Manutenzione e puliziaUn pavimento o rivestimento murale GRANITOGRES, PIETRENATIVE o GRANITOKER, sia nella versione naturale chesatinata o levigata o lappata è sinonimo di bellezza, durata eresistenza nel tempo oltre che di facilità di manutenzione. Lasua manutenzione non richiede, infatti, particolari cure senon le seguenti norme di pulizia.

Prima pulizia Si esegue normalmente una sola volta primadell'utilizzo del pavimento. Ha lo scopo di eliminare ognitraccia di calce, cemento o residui di resine contenute neglistucchi per le fughe; in questa fase il pavimento deveessere lavato con una soluzione di acido muriatico (2/3 diacqua, 1/3 di acido) o prodotti similari appositamentestudiati quali Deterprimo (Casalgrande Padana), Deterdek(Fila), Service Solvacid (Geal), Keranet (Mapei), Deltaplus(Kerakoll), Ras Clinker (Madras), Viakal (Procter&Gamble).Per evitare che il prodotto, a base acida, usato per la primapulizia, vada ad intaccare il riempimento a base cementiziadelle fughe, si consiglia, prima della suddetta operazione, dibagnare il pavimento affinchè le fughe vengano impregnatee pertanto protette dall'azione corrosiva dell'acido stesso. Sela prima pulizia viene eseguita dopo che il pavimento è statousato, sarà bene, prima dell'applicazione del prodotto acido,togliere con appositi detersivi eventuali presenze di sostanzegrasse o simili. Dopo la pulizia occorre risciacquareabbondantemente il pavimento e raccogliere l'acquaresidua.

Pulizia ordinaria Per la pulizia di tutti i giorni è sufficientelavare il pavimento con acqua e aggiunta di normali prodottidetergenti adatti a pulire superfici ceramiche.La superficie di GRANITOGRES, PIETRE NATIVE eGRANITOKER, essendo praticamente inassorbente, nonrichiede l'applicazione di cere e/o prodotti analoghi diprotezione che, al contrario, non debbono mai essere usati.Il grès non trattiene macchie o aloni di qualsiasi genere; inpresenza tuttavia di macchie persistenti e difficili da toglierecon la pulizia ordinaria, esse si possono eliminare conimpiego appropriato di detergenti più forti e più concentratiin grado di rimuovere lo sporco più intenso e di ricondurre lepiastrelle all'aspetto originario. Al riguardo è opportunosegnalare che il grès è resistente a qualsiasi sostanzachimica, eccezione fatta per l'acido fluoridrico che attaccatutti i prodotti ceramici.

InstallationThe success of a good ceramic floor covering does notonly depend from good quality of ceramic tiles. In fact,ceramic tiles are only the upper part of a multilayersystem that includes substrate, bonding and groutingmaterials, expansion joints etc. For this reason theinstallation is as much important as the tiles themselves.The study of the floor covering should start at the verybeginning according to the type of building, expectedwear of the floor, expected static and dynamic weightsthe floor will have to stand etc. GRANITOGRES, PIETRENATIVE and GRANITOKER porcelain tiles can be installedlike all ceramic tiles and it is therefore possible to useeither the traditional cement mortar or thinset system.Prior to commence any installations, we recommend tocarefully check that grès porcelain tiles are available withnecessary quantity and that shade and caliber of tiles donot differ. It is then necessary to follow the normalpractice that includes preparation of substrate and ofadhesives, installation of expansion joints, respect ofcuring time etc. In case of large areas, it is necessary toforesee at regular distance the installation of expansionjoints to absorb floor movements that would generatetiles cracks. In smaller areas it is sufficient to leave asmall gap close to the walls and the installation ofbullnoses and/or coved skirtings will then cover this gapand complete the aesthetic of tiling work. It is importantto avoid walking on the floor for 2/3 days time to allowproper curing of the multilayer system. When using thecement mortar system without curing additives it isnecessary to wait even for one month before stressingthe floor with weights. GRANITOGRES, PIETRE NATIVEand GRANITOKER porcelain tiles, in spite of their highhardness, can be easily cut or drilled by using samemachinery generally used for marble/granite or naturalstones.

Maintenance and cleaningA floor or wall covering in GRANITOGRES, PIETRE NATIVEand GRANITOKER, in the matt version as well as in thesatin-finished, honed, polished or lappata version, issynonymous with beauty, durability, and resistance overtime, as well as providing easy cleaning andmaintenance. In fact, these materials do not require anyspecial maintenance other than the cleaning proceduresdescribed below (this applies only to the unglazedproducts of granitogrès).

Initial cleaning This needs to be carried out only once,before the floor is used. The purpose is to eliminate anytrace of lime, cement, or resin residues contained in thegrouts used for the joints. In this phase, the floor must bewashed using a solution of hydrochloric acid (2/3 water,1/3 acid) or similar products specially designed for thispurpose, such as Deterprimo (Casalgrande Padana),Deterdek (Fila), Service Solvacid (Geal), Keranet (Mapei),Deltaplus (Kerakoll), Ras Clinker (Madras) or Viakal(Procter&Gamble). To prevent the acid-based productused for the initial cleaning from corroding the cement-based joint filler, we recommend that you wet the floorprior to cleaning so that the joints are impregnated andthus protected from the corrosive action of the acid. If theinitial cleaning is carried out after the floor has beenused, before applying the acid product it is advisable tofirst remove any greasy or similar substances usingsuitable cleaning products. After cleaning, the floor shouldbe rinsed thoroughly and the residual water collected.

Routine cleaning For everyday cleaning, it is sufficientto wash the floor with water and normal cleaningproducts suitable for ceramic surfaces. The surface ofGRANITOGRES, PIETRE NATIVE, and GRANITOKER ispractically impervious and therefore does not require theapplication of wax and/or analogous protective productswhich, in fact, should never be used. Grès does not retainstains or smudges of any type. Nonetheless, persistentstains that are difficult to remove with normal cleaningmay be eliminated with the appropriate use of strongerand more concentrated cleaning products, capable ofremoving heavier dirt and restoring the originalappearance of the tiles. In this regard, we should pointout that grès is resistant to all chemicals, with theexception of hydrofluoric acid, which is harmful toall ceramic products.

INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE SUGGESTIONS



PoseLa réussite d'un carrelage n'est pas seulement due auxqualités des carreaux, mais à un ensemble d'éléments(sous-couche, couche liante, joints de dilatation, etc.) quiforment un véritable système complexe. Voilà pourquoi lesopérations de pose doivent être considérées aussiimportantes que le choix des carreaux. C'est le concepteurqui devra établir, en fonction de la structure et de ladestination d'usage du plan de cheminement, la juste miseen oeuvre d'application des carreaux et le type de carreaua' utiliser.Avant de commencer les opérations de pose d'une surfacequelconque, il est vivement conseillé de s'assurer que le lotde carreaux soit approprié et suffisant en quantité, tonalitéet calibre. Il faudra aussi respecter toutes les normes etprendre les précautions qui sont à la base d'une bonneexécution du travail (préparation de la dalle, composition dumortier ou des colles, temps de séchage, position des jointsde dilatation, battage, etc.). Si pour les pièces de grandesdimensions il est absolument nécessaire alignerparfaitement les joints, dans les petites pièces il suffitlaisser un petit espacement entre le dallage et les murspérimetraux. Ce sera la plinthe qui couvrira cet espace endonnant l'aspect finition. Eviter de marcher sur le carrelagependant au moins 2/3 jours après la pose. Si dans le cas oùle passage serait indispensable il faut prévoir une plancheposée sur le carrelage. Ne pas oublier que dans le cas depose traditionnelle et sans additifs particuliers dans lemortier, il faudra attendre un mois avant de soumettre le solaux contraintes et aux charges d'exercice. En particulier,même si le granitogrès et pietre native soient des matériauxtrès résistants, ils peuvent être facilement façonnés ouperforés pour la mise en place des installations techniqueset sanitaires et faire l'objet de découpe pour obtenir desformats inférieurs et/ou formes géométriques particulières.Pour cela vous pourrez utiliser des perceuses et desappareils à découper le marbre ou les pierres naturelles.

Entretien et nettoyageUn revêtement de sol ou de mur avec les carreaux de lagamme GRANITOGRES, PIETRE NATIVE et GRANITOKERdans la variante mate, satinée, honed ou polie ou lappato,est non seulement synonyme de beauté, de solidité et dedurabilité, mais aussi de facilité d'entretien. En effet, aucuneopération particulière n'est exigée pour son entretien. Ilsuffit d'appliquer les conseils de nettoyage suivants(valables pour les produits pas émaillés granitogrès).

Premier nettoyage Il est généralement fait une seule fois,avant même de piétiner le sol. Son but est d'éliminer toutetrace de chaux, de ciment ou de résidus de résinescontenues dans les produits de jointoiement. Pendant cettephase, le sol doit être lavé avec une solution d'acidemuriatique (2/3 d'eau, 1/3 d'acide) ou avec des produits dumême type prévus à cet effet tels que Deterprimo(Casalgrande Padana), Deterdek (Fila), Service Solvacid(Geal), Keranet (Mapei), Deltaplus (Kerakoll), CementRemover (Faber), Ras Klinker (Madras). Afin d'éviter que leproduit, à base acide, utilisé lors du premier nettoyage,n'attaque le produit de jointoiement à base de ciment, il estconseillé de mouiller le sol avant d'effectuer cette opération,afin que les joints soient imprégnés d'eau et ainsi protégésde l'action corrosive de l'acide. Si le premier nettoyage estexécuté après avoir marché sur le sol, il convient, avantd'appliquer le produit acide, d'éliminer toute présenceéventuelle de substances grasses ou similaires, au moyende nettoyants prévus à cet effet. Après le nettoyage, rincerle sol à grande eau et éliminer toute trace d'eau.

Nettoyage ordinaire Pour le nettoyage quotidien, il suffitde laver le sol avec de l'eau et des detérgents standardsadaptés aux surfaces céramiques. La surface duGRANITOGRES, PIETRE NATIVE et GRANITOKER, étantpratiquement imperméable, n'exige pas l'application decires et/ou de produits analogues de protection qui, bien aucontraire, ne doivent jamais être utilisés. Le grès ne retientni les taches ni les auréoles, ou n'importe quelle origine. Sitoutefois des taches persistent ou sont difficiles à élimineravec un nettoyage standard, il est possible de les enlever àl'aide de détergents plus puissants et plus concentrés quipermettent d'éliminer la saleté la plus incrustée et de rendreau carrelage son aspect original. Il est intéressant designaler à ce propos que le grès résiste à n'importe quelagent chimique, à l'exception de l'acide fluorhydrique, quiattaque tous les produits céramiques.

VerlegungEs hängt nicht nur von der Qualität der Fliesen ab, ob einBoden gut verlegt ist, sondern es ist die Summe vonElement (Unterbau, Haftbrücke, Stoßfugen, usw.), diezusammen ein unfassendes System bilden. Das ist derGrund, warum die Verlegearbeiten genauso wichtig wie dieAuswahl der Fliesen . Es gehört zu den Aufgaben desGestalters, in Bezug auf die Struktur und desVerwendungszweckes der Trittfläche die richtigeVerabeitungsweise und die Art der Fliesen, die anzuwendensind festzulegen. Vor Beginn aller Verlegungsarbeiten immerkontrollieren, ob die Menge, Farbe und Größe von Fliesenstimmen. Es müssen dann alle Vorschriften und Sicherheits-vorkehrungen für die korrekte Ausführung der Arbeiten(Unterbodenvorbereitung, Herstellung von Mörtel oderKlebern, Reifezeit, Ausrichten der Dehnungsfugen,Stehsockel, usw.) getroffen werden. Bei großen Flächen istes unbedingt notwending, daß die Dehnungsfugenregelmäßig ausgerichtet werden, während es bei kleinerengenügt, einen kleinen Abstand zwischen Fliesen undUmfaßungsmauern zu lassen. Der Stehsockel überdecktdann den Zwischenraum. Nach dem Verlegen darf derBoden mindestens 2 bis 3 Tage nicht betreten werden.Sollte es trotzdem notwendig sein, sollte ein Brett auf denBoden gelegt werden. Wenn der Boden auf herkömmlicheWeise verlegt wurde und Mörtel ohne Zusätze verwendetwurde, darf der Boden für die Dauer eines Monats nichtbelastet werden. Im einzelnen, granitogrès und pietre nativekönnen, obwohl es ein sehr widerstandsfähiges Material ist,leicht geschnitten oder für technische Sanitäranlagendurchbohrt werden. Sie können auch in kleineren Formatengeschnitten werden oder in besonderen geometrischenFormen.

Pflege und ReinigungEin Bodenbelag oder eine Wandverkleidung aus Fliesen vonGRANITOGRES, PIETRE NATIVE, GRANITOKER, sowohl inmatter als auch in satinierter, honed, lappata, oder polierterAusführung bedeutet Schönheit, Haltbarkeit undBeständigkeit für lange Zeit sowie leichte Pflege. Die Pflegestellt keine besonderen Ansprüche, beachten Sie nur diefolgenden Hinweise, die für Serie granitogrès gültig sind(unglasierte Fliesen).

Erste Reinigung Normalerweise wird sie nur einmal vor derBenutzung des Bodenbelags durchgeführt. Mit dieserReinigung werden alle Spuren von Kalk, Zement oderHarzresten der Fugenmassen entfernt; dazu wäscht manden Bodenbelag mit einer Salzsäurelösung (2/3 Wasser, 1/3Säure) oder mit ähnlichen, eigens dazu bestimmtenProdukten wie Deterprimo (Casalgrande Padana), Deterdek(Fila), Service Solvacid (Geal), Keranet (Mapei), Deltaplus(Kerakoll), Cement Remove (Faber), Ras Clinker (Madras).Damit das säurehaltige Produkt, das für die erste Reinigungbenutzt wird, die Fugenfüllung auf Zementbasis nichtangreift, empfehlen wir, den Bodenbelag vor der Behandlungmit Wasser anzufeuchten; dadurch werden die Fugendurchtränkt und vor der korrosiven Wirkung der Säuregeschützt. Wird die erste Reinigung durchgeführt, nachdemder Bodenbelag bereits benutzt worden ist, sollte man vorder Behandlung mit dem Säureprodukt evtl. vorhandeneFettstoffe u.ä. mit Hilfe eines Reinigungsmittels entfernen.Nach der Reinigung muss der Bodenbelag gründlichabgespült und das Schmutzwasser entfernt werden.

Normale Reinigung Für die alltägliche Reinigung reicht esaus, den Bodenbelag mit einer Lösung aus Wasser undeinem handelsüblichen Reinigungsmittel für Keramikbödenabzuwaschen. Die Oberfläche des GRANITOGRES, PIETRENATIVE und GRANTOKER, ist praktisch wasserabweisendund muss daher nicht mit Wachsen bzw. ähnlichenSchutzprodukten behandelt werden, im Gegenteil, sie dürfenauf keinen Fall verwendet werden. Grès hält keinerleiFlecken oder Ränder zurück; sollten doch einmalhartnäckige Flecken auftreten, die sich mit der normalenReinigung nur sehr schwer beseitigen lassen, könnenstärkere und konzentriertere Mittel benutzt werden, mitdenen diese Art von Schmutz entfernt und das ursprünglicheAussehen der Fliesen wieder hergestellt werden kann. Indiesem Zusammenhang möchten wir darauf hinweisen, dassgrès beständig gegen jede Art von Chemikalien ist, mitAusnahme von Fluorwasserstoffsäure, die alleKeramikprodukte angreift.
