2 – JUSTIFICATIVA
A avaliação
As propostas avaliativas desta
4 – METODOLOGIA
As atividades
5

But…what´s an e-mail ?
@ (…)Development of E-Mail
The process of development of e-mails started gaining momentum from
1974 when it was used for military purposes. After this, some E-mail folders
were developed by Larry Roberts and some important softwares were
developed by John Vital with the aim of organizing e-mails in 1975.
All these important events allowed E-mail to be used for ordinary
commercial purposes from 1976 onwards. Simple Message Transfer Protocol
or simply SMTP was the very first type of E-mail to be used. It was a simple
process of sending mails. This was followed by Eudora which was developed
in 1988 by Steve Dorner and this promoted the use of e-mails for commercial
purposes. This was followed by Pegasus mailing system.

9 – O texto de Helen apresenta muitos verbos no tempo presente. Vamos verificar?
Have e have got praticamente significam a mesma coisa: I have a friend./Eu
tenho um amigo. // I have got a friend./Eu tenho um amigo. A expressão aparece
frasal.
... Complete the sentences with have got or has got:
a – You ……………………….. an e-mail.
b – I ………………………….. many friends.
c – My parents ……………………….. a beautiful family.
d – Mickey Mouse ……………………. a short tail.
e – We ............................. pets.
f – Helen .......................... a pen pal.
g – They ……………………………. a modern notebook.
h – He ……………………………….. two sisters.
i – Your relatives ………………………… many buildings here.
j – David ……………………………….. a girlfriend.
... Write some sentences with has, have, has got and have got:
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
……..…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
I have got (I’ve got) I have got friends. You have got (You’ve got) He has got (He’s got) He has got a small family. She has got (She’s got) We have got (We’ve got) We have got things to do. You have got (You’ve got) They have got (They’ve got) They have got a big house.
14
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
a - Keep the email short, direct, polite and to the point.
b - Be careful not to expose your life to strangers using e-mail.
c - Be careful in giving out your e-mail address.
d - Be careful when opening e-mail attachments because they can have viruses.
e - Talk about your life to strangers in the Internet.
@ PRACTICE C – Electronic pen-pal
Portanto, observe
estas dicas na produção de um texto:
. ser curto, direto e de fácil leitura;
. usar o assunto com inteligência;
. evitar o envio de e-mail para várias pessoas sem necessidade;
. não divulgar e-mails de seus contatos sem autorização;
. ter prudência e boas maneiras;
. ser educado e elegante;
. evitar envio de anexos sem necessidade;
. verificar a ortografia e a gramática. *
Observe:
CYA – See you!
IC – I see (I understand...)
L8R – Later
XXX – Kisses!
OOO – Hugs!
{\0/} – Angel *

What’s a Blog?
A blog is a personal diary in cyberspace. It’s an abbreviated version of “web-
log” and it´s a space in which people can publish their opinions, images, texts,
videos, music, and other things as links, posts… Let´s see some blogs on the internet
and then we will understand their function because the most modern blogs are
interactive.

Arquivo pessoal – Marisa Kobner thoughts. Memos to the world.
Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all
shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules.
In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing
basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. Then
they comment on it or link to it or email you. Or not. (...)
B PRACTICE A – About Blog
WORD WORK - Match words in bold type and their meanings:
1 – “A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space.”
2 – “A collection of links.”
3 – “Your own private thoughts.”
4 – “There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real
rules.”
5 – “In simple terms, a blog is a web site, …”
Text Translation (adaptação)
O blog é um diário pessoal. Uma tribuna diária. Um espaço interativo. Um local para
discussões políticas. Um canal com as últimas notícias. Um conjunto de links. Suas próprias
ideias.
As
23
a – De todos os tamanhos e formatos.
b – Suas próprias ideias.
c – Um espaço colaborativo.
d – O blog é um site.
e – Um conjunto de links.
Underline the word that doesn’t belong to the group.
1 – E-mail – blog – cyberspace – technology - kid
2 – Site – link – snake – web – internet
3 – Sheep – news – magazine – book – diary
4 – Can – to read – to write – to answer – English
5 – Ideas – thoughts – happy – mind – imagination

B PRACTICE B – Lecture
Emotions in a Blog
As we have seen before...
There are many different types of blogs. In some of them you can express
your opinions, your emotions, your feelings. You may add your own text as a reader
of that blog. An example:
You have ever heard or read about… the weather has a strong effect in our
mood. Other things may affect that, but it is not surprising the impact the weather
on how you dress or what you eat. It’s common to feel many emotions throughout
the day. And the science explains that people’s emotions are simply more vulnerable
to weather changes than others. Sometimes this situation affects our relationship
with other people.
Let´s read two texts from web about emotions, feelings and weather. Then

A palavra

B PRACTICE E – Can you recognize your emotions?
If I ask you how you are feeling, you may
answer: “I´m feeling good. I’m fine!” But what
does that “good” or “fine” really mean? Would it
mean fascinated, curious, balanced, joyful,
encouraged, hopeful, motivated, happy…?
On the other hand you might also reply:
“I´m feeling bad” and then, recognize that you are feeling bored, lonely, sorry,
anxious, fearful, nervous, insecure or frustrated.
The advantage of making such distinctions, rather than feeling “good” or
“bad”, is that your emotions indicate what you need to do feel something more
satisfying. (…)
Recognize each of your emotions and pay attention to what they are
communicating to you!

7 – O texto “Can you recognize your emotions?” traz alguns adjetivos terminados em

a – Do you agree with the article published in the magazine? Why?
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
b – Have you found ways to express your feelings?
