SLIP
SlipThese shots are again
very dark and cold. The mist over the forest
feels edgy and the girl stood on the rocks is
similar to the shots in ‘Hyde’ by the lake; in
this case the girl is stood over a waterfall.
There is part of the music video showing the girl rubbing paint
over her body and hair then taking to the
forest to wipe it across trees. This shows a
connection with nature in an obscure, edgy
way. The colours flow.
SlipThe train track shot is
similar to the car traffic in ‘Arcadia’ and show the girl getting away
from reality and escaping. The colours
of the other two show the unnatural,
fluorescent lighting of being indoors in
comparison to in nature. The top right
screenshot is a clever use of a mirror to show
the girls actions without filming her directly but uses an
over the shoulder shot with a single character.
SlipThese screenshots are
a collection of the montage of footage
with the use of water. The flowing of the river
shows the fast pace, free movement. A girl
drowning is common in music videos of this
genre and the dripping ripples of the murky
water add to the edgy vibe of the song while
staying contingent with the dark, cold colour
scheme and the theme of water use. The video
has no narrative or performance.
