WH E R E A S it is necessary to make provision for such Preamble, expenses of the Government of Cyprus for the year
ending the thirty-first day of December, 1954, as are not already lawfully provided for or shall not hereafter he provided for by any Law.
B E it enacted by His Excellency the Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Cyprus as follows :—
1. This Law may be cited as the Appropriation Law, short title. 1954.

First Schedule. Appropriation of £1,373,658.
Second Schedule. Limitation of sums to be spent.
Date of coming into operation.
2. In addition to the sums already lawfully appropriated to the service of the Queen or which may be hereafter lawfully appropriated thereto, there shall be issued and applied to the service of the twelve months ending the thirty-first day of December, 1954, out of the revenue and other funds of the Colony, any sum not exceeding the sum of Seven Million, One Hundred and Eighty-Seven Thousand, and Nine Hundred and Thirtjr Pounds for defraying the charge of the Government of Cyprus for such period as set out in the First Schedule.
3. There shall be issued and applied to the service of the twelve months ending the thirty-first day of December, 1954, out of the Development Fund of the Colony, any sum not exceeding the sum of One Million, Three Hundred and Seventy-Three Thousand and Six Hundred and Fifty-Eight Pounds for defraying the charge of the Government of Cyprus for such period as set out in the Second Schedule.
4. A sum not exceeding the amount set down under each head in the Schedules hereto may be issued and spent in respect of the Establishment or Service specified and referred to therein.
5. This Law shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of January , 1954.
