Pre Wet, Liquid Treated Salt
Reduce Application Rates up to 50%! Quick Burn and Long Lasting Residual Effect Will Not Clump or Freeze at Low Temperature Aqua Color for Improved Visual Spreading
Break Through Slippery Sidewalks with the Power of Lightning!
High Performance Treated Salt
Cut Application by 25-30% Gets You to a Safe Surface Fast! Resistant to Particle Bounce Bio-Based Organic Accelerating
Technology Derived from sugar beets Natural Amber Color
Patented Corrosion Inhibitor Significantly Reduces Wear to Equipment & Concrete!
Thunder Melt™ gets you to a safe surface faster and last longer with less product. Thunder Melt™ is much more effective at lower temperatures than straight
Sodium Chloride. Resistant to wind and bounce, Thunder Melt™ stays where you put it. Less product applied means fewer trips back to the pile, saving fuel,
equipment wear, and labor.
Thunder Melt™ is non-caking and does not clump or clog your auger or spreaders.

Thanks to its efficiency and significant operational cost savings, Thawrox is the future of deicing. Thawrox is produced by Compass Minerals, one of the largest basic producers of salt in the U.S. and an exert in the salt industry, so you can be sure you’ll get exceptional customer service.
Reduces bounce and scatter; about 95% stays in the targeted application area
Good adhesion to roadway with continuing residual effects
Reduces fuel and labor costs Works in cold temperatures (5ºF / -15ºC) Less wind-borne loss of finer salt
SnowSlicer™ is a pre-wet ice melting product that contains a blend of naturally occurring crystal and liquid ice melt products plus a unique, purple coloring that makes it highly visible. The combination of a high-performance liquid deicer and a blend of find and coarse crystal ice melters using Central Salt’s “pre-wetting” technology results in a unique prod-uct that melts faster, last longer, and performs better.
Why is SnowSlicer more Cost Effective? Fast-acting and effective in lower temperatures
Pre-wet deicer means less material (up to 50%) and few applications are needed
Flows freely even in sub-freezing conditions
Vivid purple color is easy to see and will not track or stain
Maintains a residual melting effect after storm event
Thawrox was awarded the Design for the Environment (DfE) label by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its many environmental benefits.
(-30) Is that Air Temp or Ground Temp What’s the difference?
Air temperature is not nearly as important as the temperature
of the ground when you are trying to make a walkway safe from
slippery weather. What does it mean when the weatherman
reports “10 deg. at sunrise,” and my Ice Melter has an effective
temperature of 0 deg.? My Ice Melter should work, right? One
more assumption; what if this morning is the first day in ten
where the temperature is actually warmer than five below? Will
the product you are using actually melt ice?
Solid material reacts with water to
form a liquid brine Brine spreads round to break bonds
made between ice & pavement
An Ice Melter begins working when the solid granule mate-
rial dissolves in water, creating brine. If the ground tem-
perature is too cold, come products are not able to make
the conversion so they can’t be effective. The air tempera-
ture reported on the news is almost never the same as the
temperature on the surface of your parking lot, driveway, or
sidewalk. And that is the measurement that really counts!
One last complication. All products are not tested in the same way, so when you see the words “Effective Temp (-20)” on one product it may not provide the same results as when you see it on another. Things to keep in mind are:
Melters like Potassium Chloride and Urea are most effective at high temperatures Melters that contain Magnesium Chloride function in the subzero range
Material Must Dissolve and Create Brine! Ground Temp is Crucial!
Maximize Effectiveness! Another way to maximize effectiveness is to apply ice melt materials in advance of an anticipated winter weather event, rather than applying after snow has already fallen. They primary goal of ice melting products is to prevent the adhesion of snow and ice to pavement surfaces, and this task is significantly simplified if the ice melter can immediately react to falling snow.
Apply in Advance of Snow Events
Concrete Tips *Do not Over Apply
Avoid Scaling, flaking or pealing due to repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Manager rates of calcium chloride or sodium chloride application. Always follow application instructions. Do not apply ANY ice melter until concrete is sufficiently cured-this is typically about 1 year after concrete is first poured.
*Use Air-Entrained Concrete. This composition is protected from freeze/thaw damage.
