WONDERWALL (Oasis)

Gli Oasis si crearono originariamente nel 1991 a Manchester, inizialmente si chiamavo Rain: Liam Gallagher, Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan e Tony McCarroll, ma poco dopo si aggiunse Noel Gallagher e Liam e cambiarono il loro nome in Oasis, il gruppo si sciolse nel 2009. Hanno pubblicato in totale 11 album, sono tra i pionieri del Britpop, e tra le band più note dell’Indie Rock, gli Oasis sono il gruppo britannico che ha avuto maggior impatto negli anni novanta. Wonderwall è una delle canzoni più famose degli Oasis, fa parte dell’album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? del 1995. Fu scritta da Noel Gallagher, e divenne uno dei brani che hanno reso il gruppo uno dei pilastri del Britpop. Fu disco di platino nel Regno Unito e disco d'oro negli Stati Uniti; Wonderwall è stata inoltre decretata come la canzone britannica più bella di sempre. Il titolo sta a significare, letteralmente, “Il muro delle meraviglie” ed è un omaggio voluto a George Harrison, chitarrista dei Beatles. Viene considerata una delle canzoni che rappresenta di più il gruppo, è uno dei brani con cui vengono più riconosciuti. Una delle più famose frasi di Noel Gallagher è: « We're not arrogant. We just believe we're the best band in the world».

Personalmente è la mia canzone preferita perché era anche quella di mio nonno, ormai morto, ed è il gruppo che è stato sempre presente durante la mia vita.
